Pet care experience
Professional and Enthusiastic!
I’ve always loved animals and have had the opportunity to work with them in a variety of settings, including a pet store, veterinary clinic, and wildlife sanctuary. I’ve cared for all kinds of pets and have experience with everything from basic grooming and dog training to administering medications and accommodating dietary needs. At home, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, aquatic pets, hamsters, and rats, so I understand that every animal has their own personality, routine, and comfort level. I love getting to know each pet individually and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away. My goal is always to provide the best quality of life possible through attentive care, proper feeding and grooming, plenty of playtime, and lots of patience and affection. Whether your pet is outgoing and playful or needs a little extra time to feel comfortable, I’m happy to meet them where they are and make sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for!

Alysa is very kind and caring. Thank you!

Alysa is a sweetheart! Maverick loves her and that was after his first stay over.

Shaggy always has a great time there

Shaggy had a great time

Absolutely adore Alysa. She's kind with a great demeanor, asks a lot of care questions, comfortable with medication requirements, and followed through with specific requests. Overall made me feel extremely comfortable leaving Shasta with her. Thank you so much for accommodating us! 10/10 would recommend.

She came through for me in an emergency. She looked after my sweet dog with kindness , reliability and empathy. My mom died and was so full of empathy. She is very dependable. Communicates well. She was very flexible. Listens to what your pet needs. She gave him medicine daily as well!

Schedule
I work part time as a dyslexia tutor, and most of my tutoring sessions are done from home. My current hours away from home are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3 pm to 7 pm.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
All pets are allowed to be where they are comfortable when they stay with me in my home. I provide crates for those who like to have their own personal space. My fenced in yard is small, but big enough to play fetch and have fun with other dogs. I like to follow established routines as closely as possible, though their may need to be some flexibility to account for varied schedules or schedule changes.

A typical day
The day starts off at 6 am with time outside in the yard before and after breakfast. Sometimes I will do morning/daytime walks, other times I will provide trips to the dog park for exercise. We also like to do evening walks when the weather isn't too harsh. Walks range from 20 to 40 minutes. Due to my tutoring schedule, dinnertime is later in the evening at 8:00 and evening walk times range from 9 to 10 pm.

- It is very important that dogs are cat-friendly. Our cats need to feel comfortable and happy in their home. They are very accustomed to dogs and have a good relationship with their dog "brother," but newcomers will need to be able to avoid chasing or barking in order to be considered cat friendly. If you are unsure of how your dog will react to cats just let me know, and we can assess their compatibility during a meet and greet.
