I'm semi-retired and take advantage of our beautiful central coast daily, either walking, hiking, or playing on the beach. We start our day in the morning with a nice sniff, play, or zoomie time on the property. After breakfast we'll do a walk on the beach, a hike (depending on your pet) or playtime on the property. My dog is getting older so he's usually good for about 3 miles and can't really do strenuous hikes. He loves the beach so we also take a late morning beach walk. Aromas also has a lovely dog park now, so if your pup is social that's a fun place to go. For more athletic dogs, there are some incredible hiking trails in this area. Afternoon chores start normally around 5, when I walk the property and feed and check on my goats and emus. This is more play time for your fur baby, as we watch the sunset and settle in for the night. Where does your pet sleep? They are welcome on the furniture or my bed. I also have extra dog beds for those pets who like their space.

I have a completely fenced yard with plenty of space to roam. With the exception of a couple of 2-3 hour windows 2 to 3 days per week, your pet is never alone. I do have stairs so if your pet needs help going up and down, I will block the stairs so there are no accidents.

Please let me know if your pet has any special needs or behaviors to be aware. My Pit Bull is friendly and gets along with everyone. My preference is to do a meet and greet prior to boarding, so that you can see where your pet will be staying while you're away. It also gives your pet the opportunity to meet my Atticus, and see how they engage with each other.
A typical day
What does your pet like to do? I have a lot of experience with senior pets and understand they might like a soft place to lounge around all day, with short bursts of zoomies after some light play. For more active dogs, every day is play day here! Lots of outdoor play, walks, and places to visit on the peninsula, followed by a peaceful place for relaxing in Aromas.

As a lifelong animal lover with more than 25 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, horses, emus, chickens, and even a feral cat colony, I understand that every animal deserves patience, compassion, and individualized care. My goal is simple: to provide a safe, loving, and enriching environment where your dog or cat can relax, play, and feel at home while you're away. Located on three beautiful acres in Aromas, California, my property offers a peaceful park-like setting with plenty of room to explore safely. Safety is my highest priority, and dogs are never left unattended outdoors. Every guest receives attentive supervision, plenty of exercise, and lots of affection throughout the day. Your dog's stay may include walks, nature hikes, supervised outdoor play, enrichment activities, cuddle time, and, for suitable dogs, adventures to local beaches and trails. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers a quiet place to relax, I tailor care to their individual personality and needs. Inside, dogs and cats enjoy a spacious 2,800-square-foot home where they are welcomed as members of the family. They can lounge on comfortable furniture, sleep on the bed if permitted by their owners, or rest in their own crate if that is their normal routine. I share my home with my gentle 11-year-old pit bull, who gets along well with dogs, cats, and the farm animals on the property. Because I value safety and positive experiences for every guest, I carefully evaluate compatibility and strive to create a calm, stress-free environment. When your dog stays with me, they're not staying in a kennel—they're joining a home filled with love, experience, and genuine respect for animals. My goal is for both you and your dog to enjoy complete peace of mind, knowing your family member is safe, happy, and cared for as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your dog or cat.

Allyn has been our go to house and animal sitter. We have dogs, cats, pot belly pigs, chickens and a goat and Allyn is great with them all. She is honest and reliable and I couldn’t recommend her more.
When my brother died suddenly his German Shepherd laid down in his closet and wouldn’t come out for food, water or bathroom. Allyn, who’d not met Smokey, laid next to him and gently whispered to him until he finally followed her out so we could care for him. At a traumatic time it was one of the kindest, most skillful things I witnessed. Strongly attuned to animals, Allyn delivers what your pet needs. She’s sat my walk loving, cuddle craving dog and he goes to her with tail wagging. And have seen her care for an aloof, kinda crazy dog (imho), who looked happy to be at her home. At drop off she makes sure everything is in place for the safety and enjoyment of your pet. She has lots of space and is conscientious about safety — I could not recommend her care highly enough.
Allyn has been the best house and dog sitter I’ve had!! My dog Charlie just loves her!! We have been neighbors for 20 plus years and she is a wonderful person and loves people and animals! Every time we pick Charlie back up he’s happier than ever. She’s got plenty of space for him to run around and plenty of animal friends to play with. Her dog, Atticus, is the biggest sweetheart and takes after her. Highly recommend her!
