Although I work full time, my position is remote and flexible. I’m able to do half-hour lunch walks, as well as full week night and weekend availability for long walks. Because I’m able to work anywhere, I can spend ample time with pets I’m house sitting as I can work directly from your home!

When I care for pets in their own homes, my goal is to keep their routine as consistent and stress-free as possible. I’ll follow your instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication, litter box or potty routines, and any other preferences you have for your pet’s care. I understand that every animal has a different personality and comfort level. Some pets love to play and be active, while others prefer quiet companionship or extra patience while they warm up to someone new. I’ll always respect their boundaries and let them set the pace. I’m experienced administering oral medications, eye medications, and injections when needed, and I’ll keep a close eye on your pet’s health, behavior, and overall well-being during every visit. I’ll also make sure your home is left just as I found it, cleaning up after meals, accidents, litter boxes, or muddy paws as needed. Communication is important to me, so you can expect regular updates and plenty of photos so you know your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable, confident, and at ease throughout the entire experience.

A typical day
I love tailoring activities to each pet’s personality, age, and energy level! For dogs, that might mean walks, playing fetch, tug-of-war, enrichment games, practicing basic commands with positive reinforcement, or simply spending time outside exploring. For more relaxed dogs, I’m just as happy to cuddle on the couch or keep them company. With cats, I love interactive play using wand toys, balls, tunnels, or puzzle toys to keep them mentally and physically engaged. I’m also happy to spend quiet time brushing them (if they enjoy it), giving them affection, or simply sitting with them so they feel comfortable while you’re away. Above all, I focus on what each individual pet enjoys. Some animals want nonstop play, while others just want a calm, reassuring presence. My goal is to make sure they feel happy, enriched, and loved until you’re back home.

Pet care experience
I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and have extensive hands-on experience caring for both dogs and cats. I grew up with dogs, and today I share my home with my two sweet&sassy cats, so I understand the unique needs and personalities of both. For two years, I volunteered at the Detroit Animal Shelter, where I cared for dogs and cats of all ages, temperaments, and backgrounds. I’ve also been fostering with Twin Cities Pet Rescue for over two years, providing a safe, loving home for animals while helping prepare them for adoption. Through fostering, I’ve cared for newborn kittens, adult cats, senior cats, and animals with a variety of medical and behavioral needs. I’m experienced administering oral medications, eye medications, and injections, and I’m comfortable caring for pets with special medical needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and cautious, or needs a little extra patience and attention, I’m committed to making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet. I can promise I’ll treat your pet as if they were my own and will provide plenty of updates, photos, and communication so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

I wish I could give Allison more than 5 stars! She did an amazing job communicating, sending photos, and taking care of our Frenchie & Pitbull. From dealing with some messes from our sick/anxious pup on the first day to going for a long walk once the weather cooled down a bit, Allison was fantastic, positive, and comforting to have in our home. On our end, the whole experience was really great and went without a hitch. Would 100% book with Allison again and recommend her to anyone with dogs in the Detroit area.
Allison K is one of the most caring and responsible people that I know. I have trusted her on numerous occasions to take care of my cats and plants while I was away. She even has left my place cleaner than I did! You can tell that she really loves animals. In fact, once or twice a week she volunteers at the Humane society so she can care for dogs and cats who need some extra love and attention. Allison has always been dependable and I am so grateful for her care when my little animals need it. I would recommend her to anyone.
