Local Roots - Neighborly Pet Care with 25 years of animal-care experience, I understand that every pet has a different personality, routine and comfort level. I provide patient, dependable care for adult and senior dogs, including dogs with special needs or oral medications. I take time to earn your dog’s trust, follow instructions carefully and watch for changes in appetite, energy, behavior or mobility. Your dog receives attentive care, affection and exercise without being rushed. Neighborly Pet Care is more than a name—I grew up here. I have watched the neighborhood grow and evolve, and I’m proud to provide dependable care for pets in the community I have always called home. I primarily serve Meridian-Kessler, Broad Ripple, Forest Hills, Warfleigh, Meridian Hills, Williams Creek and nearby neighborhoods.

I understand how important it is to find someone who will provide the same love and detailed care your pet receives from you. I use a calm, patient approach and carefully follow your routines and safety instructions. I respect your pet, home, belongings and privacy. My favorite part, you will receive photos and a detailed Rover update after every drop-in or walk.

Allison was a wonderful dogsitter for us while we were out of town for a long trip to Europe. She spent time with our dog, ensuring he got cared for and walked, but also helped out by alertly bringing in time-sensitive packages. Our dog seemed perfectly happy and healthy upon our return, which is really all that you want out of a petsitter!
Alllison is a very dependable and caring pet sitter. She is great with both large and small dogs, as well as cats. She takes time to get to know your pet and actually loves them and heaps attention on them. We have had her spend the night while we are away on trips and she has always done a great job. I would absolutely hire her again!
I've known Allison for 23yrs and to say she's a most gentle, common sense and intuitive animal lover is an understatement. She gets on the animal's level immediately, uses a gentle and non-threatening approach to encourage them to come to her and then takes time and just sits with them to earn trust - and once she has their trust she give them time, affection and any care needed. Beyond that, Allison communicates with me (usually via text) as to what time she visits my dogs, how they seem and if she has any suggestion regarding something she or I might try if they're having issues. I know Allison does research on almost everything - and a pet breed or behavior, I'm sure, is no different. She's never flaked on me or not gotten my dogs out when I've counted on her. She's a really lovely person and animals and people gravitate toward her. I'd hire her immediately if you're looking for loving, reliable, common sense caregiver for a pet!

Schedule
Standard walks and drop-ins are 30 minutes. For multiple pets, detailed routines or pets who will be alone for much of the day, I may recommend a 60-minute visit at my additional Rover rate.
