Currently I wake up early, take care of my own pets, go to work, come home and care for them some more. Often I don't get much down time till a little later in the evening! Pets are my priority, because they didn't choose to be in my life, I chose to have them. And it's my responsibility to give them a vibrant, rich and full life.

About Allison D.

Safety, trust & environment

I am not afraid to utilize various techniques and tools needed to accomplish my tasks. If in a clients home, I can crate, or even engage in a little training to help the dog understand the expectations. Safety is always a priority and I will never contact your dog's body with my own unless it's for praise or positive attention. I will also only utilize tools that are approved by you! I know there are controversial ways to get things done. I will only operate within the confines of your comfortability.

Information Allison D. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if you're dog is reactive with other dogs. I do not ever intend to allow interactions, however if I have that knowledge it sets me up for success if something were to happen. Also let me know what you're dog absolutely loves to pass the time doing! I may be able to incorporate it into our exercise.

A typical day

I love to incorporate a variety of activities. I can bring dogs on hikes upon request, go on a walk, play fetch or a variety of other games like tug. I have a dog splash pad in my back yard that water lovers can use if requested as well!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Allison. What sets me apart from the average sitter is my experience with complex behavioral needs and high-energy working breeds. If your dog requires a confident handler who truly understands canine psychology, you’ve found the right match. My Specialized Experience Includes: Behavioral Needs: Proficient in managing food reactivity, dog reactivity, and resource guarding. Variable Energy levels: Extensive experience with high-energy Shepherds, Bully breeds, and working dogs. I've worked with happy go lucky retrievers, lazy couch potatoes and dogs who need a little extra motivation. Training Tools: Skilled in using various leads and training tools, backed by hands-on work alongside a professional trainer. Body Language: I read dog body language fluently, allowing me to advocate for your pup and prevent stressful situations before they happen. Proven Success: I own two dogs who had to be integrated from scratch. One arrived severely dog-reactive, but through structured rehabilitation and patience, he is now a peaceful, thriving member of society, and the two get along beautifully. Whether your dog needs a structured walk on a specific training tool or just a handler who stays calm when another dog walks by, I’ve got you covered. Let’s chat about your routine and how I can best support your dog 😁

I've know Allison for many years and have first hand seen her give animals and people the respect, understanding, and thoughtfulness they deserve! I have a very nervous German Shepherd and when meeting him she was patient with his barking, allowed him space yet engaged with him on his terms. Truly a great person even with her own dogs. She goes above and beyond making sure her dogs can live in harmony despite having previous behavioral issues (being adopted and such). It takes someone with a big heart, confidence, and intelligence to care for animals and take the time to understand their body language. Allison is that someone! She is capable, efficient, timely, and above all else, her love for animals is well known!

They say you can’t teach a dog new tricks, I say BS! My old dog learned spin and he’s gonna learn legs. He was a rescue and I was able to teach him basics, but Allison has helped me see that he is capable of learning and that he can manage well on walks with the proper tools, even with other dogs.

What makes Allison D. awesome? She is a smart, responsible young woman who learns new tasks quickly, assesses situations accurately, is fair minded and caring. She keenly understands dog behavior. I have seen her interact with large and challenging dogs (especially strong-willed dogs) with care and consistency. She expertly attends to animal body language and behaviors. She also has experience with young and elderly dogs and knows how to keep pets safe and happy.
