- Jasper (Catahoula Cur) 2 years, 5 months old in Washington, DC
Jasper is extremely sweet and well behaved. He will happily hike miles in Rock Creek Park with you, but is also content to lounge on the couch all day. Jasper loves peanut butter and chasing his tail, and dislikes street grates and thunder. He goes out 3-4 times a day on weekends, and as dogs go, is otherwise pretty low maintenance. He's a very good boy!

Jasper is very polite in the house. We like to take Jasper out first thing in the morning around 7am, then late afternoon around 4pm, and once more before bed.
Gets along with children: No
He's a super sweet dog, and has been fine when kids on the street want to give him a quick pat, but he generally likes his space. He's likely fine with kids who don't startle him, but he isn't around kids much and we'd prefer that he's not introduced to any while we're out of town.
Gets along with other dogs: Yes
Jasper is happy to greet other dogs and does so politely, after which he's usually ready to move on. He regularly visits the dog park at 11 and Park Street, where he likes to sniff newcomers then trot around by himself. He will occasionally gets scared of larger dogs and growl at them if they do not give him space. When this happens, we leash him up and go home.
- Gets along with cats: No
We don't know if he's ever hung out with a cat.
Jasper is afraid of thunder and has a thunder shirt that helps calm him down a bit in the event of a storm. He also dislikes walking on grates. We take him outside via the back driveway because he does not like to walk down the grated steps.
