Hello, I'm Allen, and I bring over 20 years of dedicated pet care experience. Starting in high school, I worked at a dog grooming company for 3 years, mastering essential tasks like walks, washes, and brushings. During college, I also lived with a family that operated a dog grooming and sitting business, gaining hands-on expertise in daily pet care and home boarding services. Beyond pet care, I offer five years of teaching expertise and hold a Recreational Therapy license. My practice focuses on various leisure pursuits such as live vocal/guitar therapy sessions, benefitting diverse populations in various settings, including hospitals, skilled-nursing homes, dementia care facilities, preschools, K-12 public schools, and special education departments. Often, I practice and record at home, where your cherished pet can partake in this therapeutic musical experience. I'm conveniently located in Capitol Hill, just a few blocks away from Cal Anderson Park, a favorite spot for dog walks. I love working out, specifically long distance swimming and running, and will prioritize exercise with your pet at the park over the gym. Safety and comfort are of utmost importance to me, and you can trust that your pet will receive the attention, exercise, and secure environment they deserve. Alex is exceptional. His dedication and affection for dogs are clearly evident. Although we are not currently based in Seattle, we intend to contact Alex again during our next visit. Thank you Alex! Chloe had a fabulous time hanging out with you!
We always have concerns leaving our reactive dog Ruby with others, but Allen took a great care of her. Allen sent us frequent updates of what Ruby was up to, gave her several long walks and while indoors made sure she was very relaxed and comfortable.
Allen took great care of Lily! Very communicative with lots of frequent updates which was appreciated.
Mondo was nice and tired when I picked him up after his day with Allen! They went on several walks, with Allen sending video updates of their adventures and ensured Mondo felt comfortable napping. He was easy to communicate with and accommodating for pick up and drop off - many thanks again!
Allen did an amazing job taking care of our dog, Tani. He sent us lots of photos and videos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. He also kept us regularly updated about Tani’s walks and meals. We’re very lucky to have found him as a sitter and would definitely recommend him!
I enjoy all the updates Allen continues to share with Jack - I just love seeing their walks and his cozy downtime :) and I appreciate his accommodating/flexibility around Jacks stay sometimes

Schedule
I have been working in preschools most weekdays the past year and have open availability on weekends and can also be free at about 6/7pm on fridays.

Safety, trust & environment
I follow any instructions given by pets owner to make their pets stay as safe and welcoming as possible. I always have fresh water out unless directed otherwise. I create a space on my bed for the pet as well as a space on the floor close by where they can have access to their water/food/crate/bed/toys and whatever else they have with them.
A typical day
I love going for long walks with your dog at Cal Anderson park that is a few minute walk away. Outside of the park, I may step into a book store or other local shop on the way back home briefly, but will mostly have your pet at my home when not out on a walk. At home, I have calming music playing throughout the day to ease any anxieties your pet might have (the Spotify playlists “peaceful piano” and “peaceful guitar” are oftentimes playing throughout the day. I have a gated backyard in my apartment building that can also be used for playing fetch. Whatever your pet likes to do I can incorporate that into their stay!
