During my time at the Halifax Humane Society, I had the opportunity to work closely with a wide variety of dogs, gaining valuable hands-on experience in animal care, behavior observation, and shelter procedures. I assisted with daily feeding, cleaning, exercise routines, and enrichment activities to support the physical and emotional well-being of each dog. I also helped socialize animals to prepare them for adoption, using positive reinforcement and gentle handling techniques. Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment taught me how to adapt quickly, stay calm under pressure, and provide compassionate care to animals in need.
