I treat every pet as if they were my own and prioritize safety, consistency, and communication. Before each booking, I take time to learn about your pet’s routine, personality, preferences, and any medical or behavioral needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect both the pet’s routine and the home environment, following feeding schedules, exercise needs, medication instructions, and any household guidelines. I provide regular updates, photos, and messages so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away.

I can’t recommend Alison enough as a pet sitter! She grew up with both dogs and cats, so she truly understands animals of all personalities — from the social butterflies to the shy, independent ones. That experience really shows in how she reads body language and picks up on how a pet is feeling, which is such a rare and valuable skill. She’s been wonderful with my own dog Henry, an Old English Sheepdog-Poodle mix who can be pretty skittish. He absolutely lights up when she comes over, and he’s even learned to respect her space and wait for her to come to him first — which honestly says everything about the calm, trustworthy energy she brings. She’s incredibly attentive, great at reading body language, and handles dietary restrictions without missing a beat. She also sends the most fun, happy photos — you’ll never have to wonder how your pet is doing! I’d have full peace of mind leaving even a reactive or anxious animal in her care. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family and actually get them — whether they’re a bouncy social pup or a keep-to-themselves cat — Alison is your person.

Schedule
I work from home full-time and have flexibility for drop-in visits in the Richmond area. I generally request 24 hours of notice and am flexible on weekends.
