Home full-time - large fenced yard!
My husband and I are what you’d call dog whisperers. I have been training dogs since I was 12 and have raised eight guide dog puppies for the blind, and boarded many working guide dogs. More recently, I have fostered, trained, and re-homed a young pup. Most of my experience is with Labradors, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Standard Poodles, and Labradoodles, but I am familiar with traits of many breeds, and would love to care for any breed or size of pup. I am a lifelong dog lover with extensive experience raising and loving many different kinds of dogs. It's important to me to know that my dog is well cared for when I'm out of town and I want to give other dog owners the same peace of mind. All the years of experience has provided me with a wealth of knowledge in dog temperament and behavior. Dogs will appreciate being in a safe space that allows them to be who they are, and you can rest assured your beloved pup will be well cared for, loved, and understood. Besides my passion for taking care of dogs, I love to travel and spend time outdoors. My husband is from New Zealand and I spent eight years with him there before moving back to America. We actually met on Orcas Island back in the early 2000s and now make frequent trips up there, dog included! I love exploring new places, sipping coffee at a cafe with a dog at my feet, and watching movies on a rainy day! My husband is my partner in all things "dog" and has just as much experience as I do. Our three-year-old son and infant daughter have only known life with dogs, and our five year-old Labrador Retriever loves playing with other dogs, but is also content giving dogs space if that's what they prefer. They are all excited to have more furry friends in the mix, making our home a wonderful, cozy haven. If I had to use three words to describe myself, it’d be: organized, empathetic, and responsible. It may not sound terribly exciting for someone who loves to crisscross the globe, but these qualities come in handy for any sort of capable and loving caretaker. You are entrusting me and my husband with your beloved family member so please know we will do everything to make your pup a part of our little family. We will always be wondering about your pup’s comfort and enjoyment. We will all take very good care of our new furry friend.

The dogs had a great time staying with Alison and family. Alison was a great communicator, had us over for an initial meet and greet before this first stay and was organized and informative about what the stay would be like for the dogs. She sent some notes and details during their stay. The dogs came home happy and healthy. Thanks Alison. We will book again!!
I have boarded with Alison & her family many times! Brodie loves staying with her and I trust her with taking great care of him!

A typical day
We live in Echo Lake, which is just east of Woodinville––a neighborhood, that’s right, in the woods! We are close to the lake for swimming and have many long hiking trails to choose from. Our home is very dog and kid friendly, and your pup will love our large backyard with a deck to sunbathe on or wooded areas to sniff around. Our backyard is fenced in and quite spacious, so our dogs can hang out as much and as long as they want outside! I sort of have an open door policy, so they can come in and go as they please. Besides hanging out in our comfortable home, I will take the pups on some long walks in the country and they can even join me for a few hours at a time in my dog-friendly office. Basically, your pup will become a part of my family during my care.
