My name is Alison and I've been boarding dogs professionally for over 15 years. My experience, knowledge & love for animal care spans two decades. My husband Jason is also an animal lover. I'm home full time with the pups and Jason works from home part time. I've always had a love for animals but found my calling working at a pet care facility in Brooklyn after college. From great danes to chihuahuas, I've cared for a wide range of dogs. My responsibilities included taking the dogs on group walks, giving baths, transporting them to and from the facility, doing drop-in visits and training new employees. After learning and honing my skills there I started my own company, The Pawkeepsie Canine Club LLC! A trial session of daycare is required for all new applicants. We ask that your dog have a moderate to low energy level as we like to keep a fun & playful but also relaxing environment for the dogs that stay with us. That's what makes our comfy at-home setting unique & sets us apart from conventional boarding facilities or daycare centers which can be chaotic and stressful for some dogs. We like to keep our pack small to ensure that the pups are getting all the cuddles and attention they need. So you can be sure that they're getting the same level of care that they would get at home ❤️

Wonderful couple clearly in love with dogs. We came from NYC and the pictures clearly showed my labradoodle having a wonderful time.

Schedule
This is my full time profession, which leaves me the time & energy to give your dog around the clock attention. We offer daycare Monday through Friday, and by special appointment on weekends. We offer boarding full time, but all new boarding clients must first book a trial daycare session for behavioral assessment.

Safety, trust & environment
Our home is a safe & calm space for your dog to feel comfy while you're away. We own a spacious two bedroom house in the town of Poughkeepsie. Our backyard is fenced with 6 ft privacy fencing and we do not leave the dogs outside unattended. We've got lots of dog beds, toys and pet gates. We always keep a neat and clean environment for the pups, and allow them on our couch or bed if they like while they stay with us. We want them to feel at home here! We normally take about 4-5 potty breaks per day, so the dogs can get exercise or play fetch and lots of chances to do their business. We ask that your dog be fully potty trained. While we know that accidents happen, if your pup has repeated accidents we will have to apply an additional charge for the cost of cleaning supplies and/or doggy diapers if needed. You’ll always get photos, videos and regular updates of your dog while they're here. I'm available via phone or text and try to be as flexible as I can to help meet your pet's needs. I will always treat your fur babies just as I would my own. With lots of love and patience!

A typical day
One of my favorite clients, Lola, loves to cuddle and take slow paced walks. She has dental issues, so I brush her teeth. Then she gets a dental chew treat. Your pet will get the same treatment as Lola, completely catered to their needs. I don't mind administering meds or giving some extra care if they need it. Maybe your dog is more playful? We'll have lots of play sessions in the backyard, which is fully fenced, or go for long walks. Every dog is unique, so we will tailor our care plan based on your dog's specific needs & personality.
