I understand that a new face can be stressful or scary for some animals and that the first thing is to make sure an animal feels safe. This means approaching and interacting with animals at their pace. This ensures both my safety and the safety/comfort of the animal. Every pet is different, and I strive to accommodate however I am able. Traveling or being without your pet can also be stressful as an owner. I know every time I leave my cats I worry about them. I hope to provide a service that can help ease any anxieties you, the owner, may have while you are away from your companion. I also understand that I am a guest in your home and strive to be as respectful as I can of your space. I will always be considerate of special requests that preserve these values and appreciate open communication from clients to ensure this.

A typical day
I love playing with animals and any info you as the owner provide: favorite game/toy, play style, behaviour, etc. is absolutely welcome. I am more than happy to spend extra time socializing with your pet, especially if they are lonely during the day/night. You can also help me by providing information or access to available toys, tools (like brushes), routines (if they like something done a special way), or local parks that your pet enjoys!

Pet care experience
I've been caring for animals since I was young, volunteering at local shelters; socializing with and fostering cats and dogs. Because of this, I have experience with both young and old pets. I have cared for a wide range of animals and can assist with more than just dogs and cats! I have my own pets including cats, fish, and insects, as well as lots of experience with rodents (rats, hamsters, etc.). In addition to cats, I am especially capable with freshwater aquariums, terrariums, insects, and small mammals. My kitty Faye has special medical needs so I also have experience administering medications and handling special dietary needs for animals. For cats I am happy to assist with basic grooming care like claw trimming and brushing/deshedding. Due to my flexible schedule, I am able to spend lots of time socializing with pets during home visits (and absolutely enjoy doing so!). While I have cared for both dogs and cats, I have more experience with cats. I can provide basic care for dogs such as check-ins, walking, feeding, and socializing, however any additional needs for dogs please consult with me first! I am patient and understanding of every pet's individual needs. Please don't hesitate to ask about personalized care for your companion! :)
