Aside from having raised my 16-year-old husky from puppyhood (he has now passed but is still in my heart), I have cared for cats and dogs my whole life. I have professionally worked as a dog/cat bather and was the designated "difficult" animal handler after I'd achieved results with my patience and gentle handling. I really can't get enough animal-time in my life, and love them all! I will adapt my style to match your pet's personality and needs, and have experience in giving injections, oral medication, eye drops, ear drops, and teeth brushing. I have the energy to play and exercise with the hyper or youngsters, and the calm to help older or more fussy pet's feel comfortable. Every pet is unique. Their care should be too!

Safety, trust & environment
I am comfortable adopting whatever schedule, routine, or practices are part of your and your furr-baby's normal day. If your loved one goes for walks, I will cater our engagement with other critters based on your preferences; if they're allowed to say hi to friends, I'll use my dog-mom judgement along the way. In the home I'm happy to get cozy with them if they're allowed on furniture, and will otherwise employ your house rules. For kitties that are skittish, I allow them to build trust with me. Typically I will sit on the floor and let them come to me, or toss them some treats from afar while remaining still. For kitties that are very social and want pets and play, I'm ready to go! I'm also very alert to "darters" when opening doors, and will make sure they are safe, secure, and happy.

Alison was super! Very responsive and clear in communications. Very good creating trust and comfort with all three pups... And the pups' owners! Our anxious dog, Emma, was soon sitting on Alison's lap. The dogs were so comfortable that they were relaxed and playing with each other in no time. Will definitely look up Alison for future sits.
We can’t recommend Alison highly enough. While we were in a very unpredictable situation, she gave us the max flexibility in terms of her availability, and was consistently communicative with us before and during the housesitting period. We were able to have the peace of mind away from my senior fur baby. Both my partner and I felt lucky that we found her!

Schedule
I now have a PhD in Biochemistry and generally work a standard 9-5-ish schedule in the Palo Alto area, but I have a flexible schedule that I am in charge of setting. For overnight stays, I will stay at the clients home and will adjust my weekday schedule to meet your furr-baby's, but will typically need at least a 6 hour gap in the day where I can step out ; weekends I can be with them 24/7 and am happy to take them out on adventures! For drop-ins: I am typically available in mornings, late afternoons, and evenings. Services include but aren't limited to walking, feeding, potty breaks, play time, and bathing.
