Safety, trust & environment

I always prioritize pet’s safety and well-being. Of course a pet shouldn’t have a possibility to run away or get in danger. I would never leave a door or a window open. I am mostly very quiet: not making any noise to not scare them or make them feel uncomfortable. In general I just treat all pets with empathy, build trust first, let them know they have a choice to come or not, I’m not chasing them or trying to force pet. Also I’m always waiting for their consent and approval for being touched, petted, cuddled etc. I also talk to pets and use different sweet intonations so that they are happy to come and communicate with me while I’m there.

Information Alina V. would like to know about your pet

I’d like to know more specific information about each pet. What they like, what they hate, what can trigger them, what upsets them. Any incidents that happened before. Any useful information I might need would be highly appreciated. What I found useful with many families is them making a pdf file with all important info — this way I have all the information I need and can check it any time I in doubt without disturbing a family with questions and clarifications. :) I make it a priority to respond to requests within an hour and would appreciate the same from you. Please try not to leave me waiting for more than a couple of hours for a response, as my profile will remain invisible to others unless the request is either booked or archived. Thank you

A typical day

With dogs I first create a safe and positive atmosphere. I’m greeting them enthusiastically so they know they are safe and with a human who wants to be around them. Then I make sure we have everything needed for a walk, and I take them for a walk around the neighborhood, making sure they feel safe and walk enough. Also I’m letting them sniff around if they want and greet other dogs (if both dogs are friendly — I ask the pet’s owner beforehand). Then we come home, clean paws if necessary, the dog receives a treat for being a good girl/boy and we can just play a bit with their favorite toys and chill. For cats: I’m not making any excess noise, making sure that cats are aware that I’m in their space first. Letting them come to me, calling them by their name gently and offering a pet. If a cat agrees I’m giving them their pets and the cuddles they need. I make sure they have enough food, clean water. I give them a treat, play with them and take photos of them to send to their family. I offer 30 mins per 1 visit/walk.

Pet care experience

I’ve grown up with dogs and have always been around animals since an early age. When I was little my siblings and I have found stray puppies and found families for them. Not many people wanted stray dogs but we managed every single time. It was one of the greatest and proudest things I’ve done even as a little human. Since I’ve moved away from my family home and live on my own I do not have pets because I’m not ready to give them the best life they deserve so I spend some time with someone else’s pets. I’ve had experience with dogs other than my family ones for 6 years (since 2020). I am one of those people who admire dogs walking outside, will come to pet a cat and smile at them when they chilling next to the windows. I have a lot of empathy towards them and always comfort them, make them feel good in my presence and bond with every single furry friend 🥰💗

Alina was absolutely amazing with our big, anxious dog and two cats. She stayed at our place for two weeks and we got daily updates of them - they were clearly so comfortable and happy being with her. She also cleaned the entire home while we were gone, and washed all the linens she used. We definitely plan to book Alina in the future!

Alina is polite and reliable, always provided updates with pictures and kindly took out the trash so we didn’t come home to a smelly apartment. Highly recommend!!

I have to admit I was a bit skeptical at first. After all, you’re letting someone you don’t know into your home, and I had never used Cat in a Flat before. Fortunately, my concerns turned out to be completely unnecessary. Alina took wonderful care of my cat, Scottie. Every day she sent me thoughtful updates, along with photos and videos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. She is incredibly caring, attentive, and it’s obvious that she is a true cat lover. Scottie clearly felt comfortable with her, and that meant a lot to me. I wholeheartedly recommend Alina to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and dedicated cat sitter. Thank you again, Alina, you were amazing!

Alina was a wonderful sitter for my dog Olive, striking up an instant rapport, whilst her quiet confidence gave me total peace of mind that Olive would be cared for. Highly recommend!
