Active and Dog-Loving

Hello everyone! My name is Alicia Jones and I have a 13 year old basset hound mix named Madison. Maddie is in her senior years but still has a lot of energy and spunk and loves the companionship of another dog. We like to walk, hang in the backyard, play and snuggle. I have been using Rover since July of 2014 and have loved building relationships with pups and their owners! I am currently working part time and WFH some days, so my schedule is flexible and I am able to spend lots of time with your dog during their time with us. Madison and I continue to be active going on regular walks. We love taking outings to the nearby Cascades and Myers park. We have a fenced in backyard so we like to spend time outside at home and this allows for lots of potty breaks! My husband Jared is also involved and sometimes joins us. Our son Elijah is 2 1/2 and loves to be around the pups. If you are looking for a family environment and a place where your pup can be part of the pack, we are a good fit for you. My goal is to have your pup to be comfortable and feel a home away from home! I am flexible to accommodate to your pet's needs and to make their stay with us the best it can be. Why I love dog sitting I have always loved dogs, but I really became a "dog person" when I got Madison. I like dog sitting because I like to build a relationship with each dog that stays with us and get to know their personality, I think dogs are the greatest companion. About my yard There is a good amount of space in the backyard to roam and run. We are walking distance from Cascades and Myers park. My experience administering medication I can give any kind of oral medication. I can also do topical ointments/creams.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced in backyard and several parks within walking distance. I like for you to bring your pups bed/crate if they have one (whatever they use for sleeping) so we can set them up next to Madison. I also think it helps to have a piece of familiarity/home. I send regular photo updates throughout the stay and encourage check ins at any time.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Live within walking distance of Myers/Cascades Park. Also like to take walks at J.R Alford Greenway. Your dog's sleeping arrangement It is best if you bring your dog's bed or whatever they are comfortable to sleep in. Otherwise, they will be welcome to sleep on the couch or the floor upstairs wherever they prefer. Time I'll spend with your dog On weekends, I will be able to spend lots of time with your dog and we usually start out the day with a walk around the neighborhood or time in the backyard. During the week, time permitting we will also take walks/spend time to get outside. When I am dog sitting I usually try to be home with the dogs as much as possible. I can do early morning drop offs and pick up as late as 9pm.

Some questions I like to ask: What is your dogs routine (eating, bathroom habits)? How do they sleep? How does your dog do during the day while I will be at work? How well does your dog get along with other dogs/like to play? Does your dog like to walk/run? Does your dog like to go to the dog park? Does your dog need to be kept on a leash or will they stick around?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
