Availability

I work full time and am unable to accommodate drop-ins during the middle of the day during the week, however, I would be happy to discuss this on a case-by-case basis. When booking, it helps me if you also include what time of day you need. Monday through Friday I am unable to care for pets who cannot go for at least 4 hours without being let out.

Safety, trust & environment

In your home, I let your pet take the lead and show me how they're comfortable interacting. For some this means lots of belly rubs and playtime, and for some pets it means just making sure they stay safe while they do their own thing. I'm happy to accommodate any end of the spectrum! I treat your home and your pet just like it was my own. This includes caring for any pet messes that may occur, so if you can also let me know where any preferred cleaning products are in case of incidents, that would be helpful!

Information Alicia N. would like to know about your pet

Please tell me about their temperament with strangers, their favorite treats, and if they are prone to trying to make an escape! These help me keep your pet safe. I also need to know if your dog has ever been aggressive toward other pets. I don't have any breed preferences, but I don't feel comfortable walking large dogs unless they are well trained on a leash. This is for my safety as well as your pet's safety.

A typical day

I can promise your pet will get the same amount of love and attention that my own pets receive! A drop in visit usually consists of me checking in for any written notes or reminders first, then making sure any urgent needs are cared for - for dogs that usually means being let out ASAP and for cats it usually means getting the food bowls filled up immediately. I make sure there is adequate clean, fresh water, tend to any litter boxes, clean up any pet messes, and then the rest of the drop in is used to interact with the pets if they are agreeable to it. If the animals prefer I leave them alone (for example, if they act fearful or distressed if I initiate direct interaction), I may shorten the visit to minimize their discomfort. If they're social and playful, I may stay a couple extra minutes to play and get some of their energy out.

Pet care experience

I started pet-sitting through Rover in 2020 and have cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, turtles, chickens, and even a few reptiles. I have a dog and a rabbit of my own who are completely spoiled, and several regular clients whose pets I consider to be my part-time pets. I have experience with giving medications (oral and injectable) but do ask that you show me how your pet is used to taking these medications so we can keep it consistent. I am experienced in working with pets with special needs. Let's talk about it! **Please note: I take pride in going above and beyond for all of my clients, but I do politely request that you only send a request once you're sure you are committed to hiring a sitter. If we do a meet and greet and we aren't a great fit, that's absolutely fine! If your plans change, I understand. But please be just as respectful of my time as I will be of yours. I will not reserve my schedule for potential bookings for new clients until the visit has been booked and paid, but may consider holding potential bookings for repeat clients at my discretion.

I want to thank Alicia and Rover. What an amazing service. Alicia was extremely caring and both Tommy and Floyd (the shy one) immediately were taken by her and her caring nature. Our daily snapshots showed just how caring and compassionate Alicia was with them. Even our last day, when thanking her for all she did, Tommy was showing his love and appreciation to her. Truly a wonderful experience. Thank you Alicia again so very much and Rover too. Many warm regards
