Freddie’s Friends - A Home From Home

AVAILABILITY: AT CAPACITY Kennels don’t suit your dog? Looking for affordable dog-care in a cosy family home, instead? 🛋️ 🌳 Dogs of all ages welcome. Dogs get plenty of play if they’re young & playful, calm cuddles & naps if they’re older. 🙋🏻‍♀️ I’m Alice. I’m a big animal-lover, and grew up in the Shropshire countryside with lots of pets (cats, dogs, chickens, guinea pigs, you name it). I did a stint working at a dog grooming parlour as a teenager, and even did my school work experience at the local veterinary clinic. 🐕‍🦺 With the help of my sidekick, Freddie the Springador, I’ve been professionally providing dog-care since 2017 (with DogBuddy, before Rover took it over). 🌍 I spent my twenties travelling the world as an English language teacher, before settling in Worcester a decade ago to tutor privately from home online and dog-sit. Freddie & I love having company, and having other dogs over encourages us to try out new walking routes (which helps me manage my chronic back pain & migraines from endometriosis, standing/sitting for long periods exacerbate it). ❄️ Each dog has its own completely unique personality. They also have a different relationship with each human they meet. I find dogs are their best behaved selves when they’re happy, healthy, and you’ve built up a partnership with them. I provide my fluffy rabble of cuties with lots of positive praise, fruit and veg for treats (plus any you provide), and, consistent training. ⏰ Early morning and late evening collections are available. 📚 Currently studying a Combined Levels 3, 4 and 5 Diploma in Canine Behavioural Management (Ofqual accredited, and equivalent to a foundation degree). ☎️ The number Rover gives is not my mobile number, it’s the app protecting privacy. Happy to exchange numbers in person - in case there’s ever an issue with the app, or, to send cute pictures/videos of your dog to you that you may want to keep (Rover doesn’t allow videos to be sent). 🏃🏻‍♀️ I offer a FREE doggy-daycare day before any new boarding longer than a long-weekend, where you can drop off and get updates of our adventures. This way, your dog can also meet the other dogs we have regularly for daycare, and feel a part of our pack, and for them to know that it’s only temporary and after hanging out with us, they will go home. My home insurance covers front door drop offs, but not ‘meet & greets’ inside my home, so I do these in the front garden. 🐶 My downstairs in separated by a door. There’s nothing particularly precious/chewable kept downstairs, my child’s toys are kept upstairs.

Doggy Day Care • Jan 31, 2026

Alice is a young lady who clearly loves her dogs and took good care of roobarb for the day.she updated me at various points with still photos and videos. Alice did keep roobarb on a long leash in what looked to be a really nice open area whilst her other dogs were allowed to run free which was a little disappointing if I am perfectly honest as i had explained beforehand how well behaved roobarb is off the lead and indeed I rarely keep her on the lead except where there is traffic However Alice explained to me that it was her policy to always keep a first time dog on the leash. I must say i was also slightly surprised that I was kept outside and not invited into the house at any point as I think it's quite important that someone who is leaving there dog with a stranger can see the surroundings in which the dog is to be left for the day no doubt the house is a perfect environment for any dog but it's nice to be able to satisfy yourself of this before giving your dog up for the day.! Having made those points it was my overall impression that Alice will always provide a caring and safe pair of hands for your dogs away days

Alice was excellent with my German Shepherd puppy. She was really communicative and helpful. She managed to get him walking nicely with her dog too! Will definitely be coming back if I’m in the area!

What a fantastic time Annie had with Alice and Freddie! She had lots of lovely walks and cuddles and also learnt some new training - she's only 3 months old. As she is so young , I was a little concerned about leaving her but I need not have worried; staying with Alice was a home from home! It is so good to know that I can board Annie with Alice for future times away/ holidays with complete confidence that Annie will have the best care and be very happy. Alice is also very flexible and fitted in with my timings for drop off and pick up times. I highly recommend Alice. Thank you Alice!

Alice a great dog sitter and an amazing person. We received a lot of photos, videos and text messages throughout his stay at Alice’s place! She is also very knowledgeable and happy to share her thoughts. I cannot recommend Alice enough to anyone looking for a reliable, kind and highly skilled help with their precious furry friend.

Pixie told me that she had a wonderful time running in parks and socialising with fellow dogs. She almost felt that she wanted to stay with Alice and Feddy (her dog) rather than come home. Received loads of activity photos and were happy Pixie was being well looked after.

Calendar and availability

Schedule

☀️ I work from home every day with my dog, Freddie. I provide daycare and boarding where dogs are dropped and collected from my home (not ‘drop-ins’ or ‘walks.’ You can drop your dog/s off at the time that works for you, and then I take Freddie and his friends out walking in the best weather window that day. 💻 When I’m not lesson-planning/marking/tutoring online, I’m usually doing some professional development courses online. Freddie loves having the company of other dogs to play, playing with my daughter or sleeping at my feet while I work/study.

A typical day

How far and when we go out is dependent on what’s best for your specific dog, and how we’re all feeling that day. I take their kibble/treats/bags provided with me. Then more water and a cuddly nap when we get back while I mark/lesson-plan/teach. 🥎 Our house is all laminate flooring downstairs and pleather furniture for a cool temperature and easy clean-up with a dog and toddler. The living room, dining room/office, kitchen downstairs and garden are all open plan for dogs to move around freely.

We can work around these, but please disclose beforehand: 🚫 If your dog has any food allergies (so I can ensure no one we meet out gives your dog treats without checking with me first). 🚫 If your dog is reactive and has known triggers, e.g. breeds of dogs, traffic, etc. (so we can avoid/work on slowly reintroducing these). 🚫 If your dog is not crate-trained (so I can put blankets out for them on the sofa, or you can provide a bed for them). 🚫 If your dog is child-friendly or not (so they can be booked in on days my child is with her father/gently get them used to being around children). ❓If your dog is a rescue, with perhaps unknown triggers. ⚠️ Please ensure your dog has a collar, a tag, and a harness. It’s advisable to have your details on the tag (not your dog’s name - more risk of them being stolen by someone using their name). Freddie’s recall is great, but I add his microchip number on his tags (one on his collar and one on his harness), just in case. If your dog doesn’t have a tag on, you can be fined a hefty sum.
