Pet care experience

Petsitter w/ 19 years of experience

I started my career in animal care as a veterinary technician. During graduate school, I established a dog walking business, which became a success! I loved working with dogs of all temperaments and sizes, and I grew to love dogs like they were my own. I worked as a veterinary technician for three years, and have now worked as a professional dog sitter for 19 years. I have a lot of experience with different animals in all different settings so nothing ever throws me off track. As a former vet tech and current farmer educator in Morris County, I learned how to take care of pets and livestock with a variety of needs. While I started this page in Clifton, I have now worked with many clients in Long Valley and I am happy to be back on this app! I currently share my sassy tuxedo cat Ophelia with my fiance and have a Chincoteague pony who I’ve raised since she was 6 weeks old. I usually go ride and groom two to three times a week. Aside from bonding with animals, I love to read books — my absolute favorite thing to do is garden and research new gardening methods. I also love cooking and trying different recipes. I love the outdoors, which is one of the reasons dog care is perfect for me.

Drop-In Visits • Nov 25, 2019

Alexsandra took such good care of my 18 year old cat, Lola, while I was away for a week and a half. I received daily texts with updates and shockingly she was able to get pics everyday of my very shy cat. I looked forward to each of these updates everyday and it kept me sane while I was far away. This is my first time using Rover and my first experience with Alexsandra and I would 100% recommend both. I will def be using again without hesitation. Thanks for the peace of mind!

Alexsandra did an excellent job taking care of my 5 cats while I was away for a week. Her prior vet tech experience left my mind at ease knowing my cats were in good hands, especially since one of my cats needs heart meds daily. Alexsandra was very accommodating and kept in touch. It was comforting to receive her daily updates and pictures of my crew. On top of all this, the house was exactly how I left it and all of my mail and several heavy packages were taken inside.  She even took my garbage cans in from the curb. Thank you Alexsandra for providing peace of mind and great service! You are the best pet sitter ever!

8/27/2019 This review represents the second time we've had Alexsandra care for our 6 YO Lab-Mix, Stella and, following our return from two weeks on the West coast, we remain pleased with the care that Alexsandra provided. Alexsandra first cared for Stella back in May of this year. We recognized that Stella would feel comfortable returning to the home where Alexsandra first cared for her which made our boarding decision much easier for our August trip. We also wanted to eliminate any needless stress on Stella by placing her in an environment she was unfamiliar with. Once again, Alexsandra sent us daily photos of Stella combined with text messages in response to my questions all of which served to support the degree of care and affection Stella was receiving while we were away. Stella always appeared happy and, content with the fact that her Host permitted Stella to sleep on their bed and/or their furniture all of which is consistent with her routine at our home. It should be noted that Stella demonstrated a good deal of respect for Alexsandra's two cats which, of course, made for a satisfactory stay. Once again, we would recommend Alexsandra for short or long periods of care for your pet as she met all of our requirements during our time away from home.

Great family! Very attentive to detail, interactive and loving. I could tell my dog felt very comfortable in the environment. Super clean and most of all kind!

As Stella's Owner, considerable time was devoted prior to choosing Alexsandra to care for Stella while my wife and I travelled over a weekend. This would be a new experience both for us and for Stella as well since I came to the conclusion that I would avoid conventional boarding facilities altogether. Other Boarders were interviewed yet lacked the genuine interest and personality that Alexsandra exhibited during our Meet and Greet. We adopted and rescued Stella at a very young age and would never consider leaving her with anyone we felt could not be trusted. Alexsandra demonstrated an immediate relationship with Stella which served to enhance the trust on both sides. Photos were sent to us via text messaging each day as well as a brief narrative describing Stella's activities. This particular Host has two cats which, much to my pleasure, were not a bother to Stella whatsoever (she is such a sweet dog.) We know that Stella loved being allowed to sleep on the furniture and bed. Alexsandra could not have spoiled her any more than we do : ) All of our Owner Rules appeared to be followed as well as Stella's feeding and treat schedule. We thought that having only one dog during this session was a good idea for both Alexsandra and Stella providing them the opportunity to get to know each other well. I would not hesitate to endorse Alexsandra as a candidate to care for your dog as well.
