Caring for animals easily fits into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and have experience maintaining structured schedules for feeding, walks, playtime, and training. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on making pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while keeping their normal routine consistent. During drop-in visits, I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, get plenty of attention and playtime, and receive any needed potty breaks or exercise, all per your instructions. For dog walks, I prioritize safety, patience, and positive interactions while making sure each dog gets the exercise and enrichment they need. With my background in service dog training and handling, I’m comfortable working with different temperaments and reinforcing good behaviors during visits and walks.

A typical day
I love making sure pets stay active, engaged, and happy during visits and walks! Depending on each pet’s personality and energy level, I enjoy going on walks, playing fetch or tug-of-war, practicing basic commands and positive reinforcement, playing with toys, and giving lots of attention and affection. I also enjoy providing mental stimulation through interactive play and helping pets feel comfortable and relaxed while their owners are away. My goal is always to make visits fun, safe, and something your pet looks forward to.

Pet care experience
I am a certified service animal trainer with hands-on experience raising, handling, and training a service dog full-time from 8 weeks to 9 months old. During that time, I focused on obedience training, socialization, public access skills, daily care, and building strong positive behaviors in a variety of environments. This experience taught me patience, consistency, and how to confidently care for dogs with different needs and personalities. I am passionate about providing attentive, loving, and reliable care to every pet as if they were my own.

Alexis is incredibly responsible, organized and compassionate with animals. As a two-year volunteer with 4 Paws for Ability, she became a certified handler and spent nine months training a service dog, Dr Pepper. Alexis has helped dog sit our neighbors two dogs when they traveled. She also helps care for our dog, Scarlet, and always treats animals with patience, kindness and love. Alexis has excellent communication skills, pays close attention to detail, and will follow every pet owner’s instructions carefully. Any pet in her care will be treated like family.
