I typically work my schedule around the needs of my pet parents so adjustments can be made as needed. I have stayed in over 30 homes over the past four years on rover and generally bring my pup with me to meet and greets since she gets along so well with other dogs. I find sometimes if I'm away at work she makes an excellent sitter as well esp. watching over puppies! While I mostly work as a Dog-Sitter while folks are away I also do drop ins on pups all over Nashville. Many times that will be dropping in on pets 2-3 times a day and even if the stay is 30 minutes I usually take my time to ensure pets are comfortable and happy. I am currently job hunting so my so schedule is wide open at this time.

I am certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. I make sure to always put pet safety first through clear, consistent, and positive reinforced training. I believe attitude of the handler is so important to helping dogs respond successfully. I have a kind, positive and negotiative approach to training as negative reinforcement often leads to avoidance rather than obedience. In many ways I believe dogs should be able to use thier natural instinct and feel free to just be dogs. This means I prioritize mental stimulation like going on ‘sniff walks’, utilizing socialization activities, and fun, cooperative training with any dog I work with. I cant help but keep a close eye on the animal I'm watching and making sure that their needs are met through my understanding of animal body language.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors ahead of time. We live an active lifestyle so high energy dogs are fine!
A typical day
I like to coordinate with my clients about thier current routine so I can keep everything as close to normal for pups as possible. To describe my pet parent style, me and my own girl Riley Roo go on a 20 minute morning walk, get breakfast and playtime in and then sporadically go for little walks or play activities throughout the day. We love going hiking and camping together to get out in nature and reset. I take her to the dog park often since she's been going weekly since she was a puppy. I love playing with pups and have years of experience making sure all their needs are met!

Reviews

Alexis has been house sitting my pup for a couple years now and it's always a great experience, she is great with him, communicates, and I always feel confident he (and my house) are well looked after. She brings her dog with her and the two pups always have a great time together, highly recommend her for dog/house sitting needs!

Alexis is always amazing with the boys! I adore her!!

Alexis did an amazing job caring for my sweet boy! She sent lots of pictures and detailed updates. She left my place better than she found it! I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you, Alexis… you’re an angel!

Alexis was absolutely wonderful!! I loved having her watch my boys! They enjoyed playing with her lovely pup as well!!
