Pet care is a big part of my life and I do my best to fit visits around a flexible—but sometimes wonky—schedule. I’m always upfront and super communicative about when I can be there, because I know how important timing is for pets and peace of mind for their owners. Whether it’s a quick check-in, a long walk, or giving medications, I make sure to stick to your pet’s routine as closely as possible. And if I’m ever running late or notice something unusual with your pet, you’ll be the first to know—because staying connected and transparent is just as important as the care itself.

Safety, trust & environment
I provide all of my pet care visits in your home, where your pets feel safest and most comfortable. I understand how important routine and familiarity are—especially for pets with medical needs like my own medicated pit bull, Lincoln. I follow your instructions carefully and create a calm, loving environment to keep your pets secure while you’re away. Communication is key—I update owners on almost anything I notice, from diarrhea (which can have many causes) to behavior changes, and I always check on house rules like visitor policies or any other instructions. Above all, I treat every pet like family, making sure they’re safe, happy, and stress-free no matter where they are. My goal is to offer reliable, attentive care that gives you peace of mind knowing your pets and home are well cared for.
Information Alexis S. would like to know about your pet
I always review pet profiles before visits, so if medications or special needs are already listed, that’s fantastic! But I also love hearing directly from owners about anything I should know—whether your dog is reactive to other dogs, has frequent accidents, or your cat has favorite hiding spots, specific litter box preferences, or sudden bursts of “zoomies.” Even if you think it’s too much information, please share it! The more I know about your pet’s habits and quirks, the better care and comfort I can provide. My goal is to be as prepared as possible so your furry family members feel safe, happy, and truly understood.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I watch is all about tuning into their unique needs and personalities. For my energetic pit bull Lincoln, that means plenty of playtime, walks, and sometimes a good game of fetch. But for older or more relaxed dogs, it might be a slow stroll or just some cozy hangout time. I love playing with kittens and cats too—whether it’s chasing toys, gentle petting, or simply being their quiet companion while they lounge. I make sure every visit includes activities that keep pets happy and stimulated, whether that’s a brisk walk, interactive play, or just lots of love and attention. No matter the pet, my goal is to make sure they feel safe, entertained, and cared for like they’re part of my own family.

Pet care experience
I’ve been caring for animals since I was nine years old—starting with neighborhood pets and growing into running my own pet care visits for the past four years. I’ve worked with all kinds of pets: rambunctious puppies, wise seniors, dogs with medical needs (like my own lovable, medicated pit bull, Lincoln), and even diabetic pets who require insulin shots—so trust me, I’m no stranger to the special stuff. I also volunteered at the SPCA in Virginia, where I gained hands-on experience with a whole zoo of personalities. What really sets me apart is how much I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family—giving them the kind of care, attention, and love I expect for Lincoln (who, let’s be honest, probably runs the house). Whether your furry friend needs medication, playtime, a calm companion, or just someone who really “gets” them, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and maybe even a little spoiled while you’re away. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just pet sitting—it’s about caring for your family.

Reviews

Alex was great! She worked hard to get Kobu to go on a walk with her and was successful!

Awesome as always 🐈⬛🐈.

Great communication, and sent regular updates.

Alexis was very helpful in ensuring our cat, Brooks, was kept fed, had company, and maintained a clean litter box while we were away. While we received plenty of pictures each visit, we wish we got more written updates to make sure Brooks was okay, especially since we were gone for about a week. Whenever we reached out for updates though, Alexis was very responsive. Our only hesitancy was that Alexis said Brooks didn’t play at all during the visits, but he’s usually a very playful cat.
