My schedule has recently freed up a little, and mostly consists of primarily dog walking and stays currently, as I tend to build the rest of my schedule around these bookings. PLEASE NOTE: On Rover, when owners send a booking request, the dates of said request may be blocked from others being able to search the sitter until the request is officially declined/archived. Because of this, I do archive requests if there are no further replies from the owner’s side within a couple days (sometimes less if the booking is coming up soon or takes place over a holiday). If your request gets archived on my end but you still wish to book, you’re always welcome to message me and it will reopen the request.

Whenever I’m staying in a client’s home, it’s ultimately dependent on what they’re comfortable with, but I of course always reserve the utmost level of care for their pets and respect for their space. I understand that I am in their home (both owners and pets!), and I want to ensure I help keep it as normal and comfy as possible, including maintaining any routines and not disrupting the usual environment too much. I'm currently not offering boarding services at the moment, but I live in a house at the back of my landlord’s property, which is fenced off (twice) from the front. That said, I always err on the side of caution and limit outside activity to leashed walks or supervised play time on my small porch, which I block off from the stairs leading up to it. There are small dogs that walk about the property, but they’re incredibly harmless. The jury is still out on whether or not my dog will be chill with other dogs in our home.

My schedule can be flexible, but keeping in touch is a must. I build my schedule around my bookings, so please always be clear about times and try to give me as much notice as possible. On the topic of being clear, I kindly ask that you please be 100% honest about your dog. I know not every dog is going to be well-behaved 24/7 and certainly not every owner is the same, but I will always appreciate full honesty from the owner so I know exactly what to expect. That makes my job easier and gives me a better idea on how to take care of your pup based on their own needs and whatever issue they may have*. It’s better for me to hear it from you upfront than to discover it on my own later on. I promise I will not judge you! :) * I always expect some initial anxiety for every dog who stays with me or is in the early stages of getting to know me, so because of that I’m extremely patient and empathetic when it comes to dogs I take care of not acting how they usually do. I will always take this into consideration first before considering anything else!
A typical day
Every dog is different, and my goal is always to try keeping things as "normal" for each dog in their owner(s)' absence, plus anything special to help your dog feel more comfy with me! Whether that means taking them to their favorite park, giving them their favorite snacks, playing with their favorite toys, and in some cases, just hanging out with them in their favorite room -- I'm super big on quality time!

Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Alexis! I started out dogsitting for friends, family & neighbors growing up, but then I began to build experience with several clients in multiple cities over the years. I also owned two very healthy/happy dogs with my family for 14 years, and currently have a 2-year old dog of my own. Once I graduated college, I became active full-time with Rover for a few years, and have had the pleasure of not only taking care of some amazing pups, but also building great relationships with both them and their owners. I am a dog person, but I’m very much a people person too! I've had lots of experience with anxious doggies, and am incredibly patient when it comes to building trust with those who need a little extra time and TLC. I'm also comfortable with administering medication, whether it be by ingestion or injection. You can trust that your dog will be in good hands under my care. Please feel free to message me if you're interested in my services! PLEASE READ: I charge a higher rate for holidays and extended stays of 5 nights or more, so please take a moment to fully review my listed prices before submitting requests as to avoid any awkwardness or confusion!
Reviews

Lex took such good care of our pup parker! He can be a finicky dog and they gave him everything he needed in terms of space, attention and love and then some. So excited we found you Lex! Will definitely be booking you again soon!

Alexis is a wonderful sitter for my senior dog! She is so kind, gentle, and attentive to his needs and wants. Alexis gives me updates throughout the day, which always include cute photos. As my dog has gotten older and his needs increased, she has been so willing to help him out. I’m so grateful to have someone that I can trust with my old man!

Amazing animal lover and human being. Don't even think of looking further. Alexis took amazing care of Big Rig ( rescue cat), Aunt Ruthie (rescue dog), and (not-rescue) house during her stay. The critters loved her right off the bat. Lots of pictures, lots of communication, 100% peace of mind. We have found our forever house sitter.

Very grateful to have found Alexis. She did a phenomenal job with our two boys. Caring, attentive, and communicative. Couldn’t have asked for anything more! Felt totally at ease being away for multiple nights. Thanks so much Alexis. You’re the best!!!
