Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I currently care for four large dogs of my own — an Australian Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Labradoodle, and Bernese Mountain Dog — so I’m very familiar with maintaining consistent feeding schedules, walks, exercise, playtime, and daily care for dogs with different personalities and energy levels. Because I’m currently home full time, I’m able to dedicate a flexible schedule to pet care throughout the day and week. This allows me to provide reliable walks, drop-ins, house sitting, medication administration when needed, and even accommodate many last-minute bookings. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so pet care naturally fits into my routine and lifestyle. I prioritize making pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while also keeping owners updated with communication and photos during visits.

Safety, trust & environment

I always try to make pets feel as comfortable, safe, and stress-free as possible by following their normal routine and giving them individualized care based on their personality, energy level, and needs. In my client’s home, I focus on maintaining the pet’s regular schedule with walks, potty breaks, feeding, fresh water, playtime, medication administration if needed, and plenty of attention and companionship. I also provide photo and message updates so owners feel informed and comfortable while they’re away. I’m experienced with large breeds, puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with disabilities, so I’m comfortable adapting care to different situations and temperaments. My goal is always to make pets feel loved, safe, and well cared for while giving owners peace of mind that their pets are in good hands.

Information Alexis O. would like to know about your pet

Before caring for any pet, I like to learn as much as possible about their routine, personality, and individual needs so I can make them feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. Important information for me includes feeding schedules, potty routines, exercise needs, medications, allergies, behavioral quirks, triggers, and how they interact with people or other animals. I also like to know if a pet has any anxiety, fears, medical conditions, mobility limitations, or special accommodations so I can provide the best care possible. Since I have experience with large breeds, puppies, senior dogs, dogs with disabilities, and medication administration, I’m comfortable adapting care to fit each pet’s specific needs. I always want owners to feel confident that their pets are being cared for in a safe, loving, and attentive environment, so communication and understanding each pet’s routine ahead of time is very important to me.

A typical day

I love making sure pets stay both physically active and mentally engaged while they’re in my care. Depending on each pet’s personality, age, and energy level, activities can include neighborhood walks, playtime, fetch, tug-of-war, outdoor time, enrichment games, basic reinforcement of commands, or simply giving them companionship and attention. For high-energy dogs, I enjoy longer walks and interactive play to help them burn energy in a healthy way. For puppies and younger dogs, I focus on positive interaction, consistency, and safe play. For senior dogs or dogs with disabilities, I adjust activities to whatever keeps them comfortable, relaxed, and happy. I also make sure pets get plenty of affection and attention during visits, since many animals mainly want companionship and comfort while their owners are away. My goal is always to keep pets happy, safe, stimulated, and stress-free while sticking closely to their normal routine.

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m a Metro Detroit-based dog lover offering dependable dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting for busy pet parents. I know how important it is to trust the person caring for your pets, so I focus on reliability, communication, and making every visit safe and stress-free. I currently have four large dogs of my own — an Australian Shepherd, Great Pyrenees, Labradoodle, and Bernese Mountain Dog — so I’m very comfortable handling large breeds, high-energy dogs, and different personalities. I also have experience caring for puppies, senior dogs, dogs with disabilities, and pets that require medication administration or extra attention. Whether your dog needs a midday walk, potty break, feeding, playtime, medication, or companionship while you’re away, I’ll treat them like they’re my own. I’m currently home full time, which gives me a very flexible schedule for walks, drop-ins, and house sitting. I’m also happy to accommodate last-minute bookings whenever possible. I provide photo updates and communication during visits so you can feel confident your pet is happy, safe, and cared for. I’m excited to meet you and your pets!

Alexis took amazing care of my Bernese Mountain Dog puppy. I was super stressed over what was best for my 95 lb. 9 month old puppy. Not everyone would be comfortable with a puppy that large. Alexis and her dogs welcomed him into their home, gave him love, and made him comfortable. It was such a relief. I was comfortable knowing he was left in good hands.
