Pet care experience

Giving attention + care like family

I have cared for both outdoor and indoor cats my entire life, as well as house-sat and walked dogs of all breeds, ages, and special needs. I'm experienced in giving shots, subcutaneous fluids, insulin, asthma inhalers, and oral and topical medications, as well as looking for signs that a pet might not be feeling well. I also have experience with pets who live with diabetes, arthritis, anxiety, blindness, and hearing loss. I work several hours a week as a veterinary social worker, so I have extensive experience coordinating care for elderly or sick/recovering animals, guiding pet parents through that difficult process, and helping them decide on the best course of care for their pet. I'm great at walking dogs on leashes, have lots of experience with reactive dogs and animals with separation anxiety, and am confident taking them to a dog park if allowed. I have fostered cats and currently have a playful and mischievous cat of my own - Burglar. I love animals of all kinds, am patient as they get to know me, and am known among friends and family as someone all their animals gravitate toward. I'll make sure your pet gets the attention, play, and cuddles they need! FIRST TIME USING ROVER? Use the promo code ALEXIN39682 at checkout, and first-time pet parents will get $40 off their first $20+ booking after they sign up.

Safety, trust & environment

HEAT ADVISORY: To appropriately care for your pets during the summer heat, please understand that walks may be limited in time due to heat and humidity. Walks during extreme heat will be limited to potty breaks and kept off asphalt and in the shade whenever possible. To ensure your pup gets their energy out, we will continue to play inside with the AC once potty is over. Water bowls will always be checked and refilled if necessary. I treat each pet as if they were my own. My goal is for you to return home to the way it was left, for all messes or accidents to be cleaned up, and for your pet to keep their routine.

Alexis did great with my two dogs, Blanco and Arlo! Arlo takes a bit to warm up to new people, but Alexis was very patient with him and got him on his walk as planned. Thank you!!

Alexis is always great with my little guy - My mind is always at ease knowing that she’s taking such good care of him (the funny / cute pictures she sends are always a plus, too)! Great communication and updates, as usual. ☺️

Schedule

I pet-sit full-time and have an extremely flexible schedule where I can come and go as needed. I am almost always able to fit clients in for walks and drop-ins, except for the few hours I work a week as a veterinary social worker at a local pet hospital. I'm punctual, easy to get in touch with, and available mornings, during the day, and at night. CANCELLATION POLICY: 7-day house sitting policy: Clients get a full refund if they cancel by noon one week before the stay starts. After that, you get a 50% refund on the first 7 canceled days and a 100% refund on any days after that. 1-day drop-in and walks policy: Clients get a full refund if they cancel by noon the day before the stay starts. NOTE ON HOUSE SITTING: **If you are looking to book for house sitting, it is best to contact me at least 3 months ahead of your scheduled trip to ensure I'm available and lock in your dates! My house-sitting schedule fills up very quickly!**

Let me know how your dog typically behaves on walks. Should we avoid other dogs? Is your dog prone to exploring anything potentially dangerous or messy? Please also let me know any commands you have for them and how you prefer to use their leash or harness. For cats, let me know any typical hiding spots. Do they have any favorite treats or toys? Do they have specific areas they don't like to be pet like their stomach or paws?
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
