Pet care experience
PhD student seeking canine company!
I’ve been dog sitting for essentially my whole life! I grew up with 3 small dogs in Davidson, North Carolina, then continued to freelance dog sitting throughout undergrad and now grad school at MSU in Bozeman. I’m studying environmental microbiology, and because I’m not sure what my postgrad steps are yet, I am hesitant to get a dog of my own. So, I’d love to be an aunt to as many Bozeman pets as possible! I have taken care of dozens of dogs and cats for my close friends, professors, managers, and strangers. I have no problem with overnight visits due to my flexible schedule, and I’m an avid runner (I ran track and cross country in college) so I’m happy to help dogs get their zoomies out. I’d love to wear out your pups!
Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
Unfortunately I can’t board pets due to my landlord’s rules, but when I sit in others’ homes, I usually exercise pets in the morning and in the evening at minimum (since I also have to get my zoomies out) and send pet pictures daily, though I can do this more frequently upon request. I am generally very flexible, responsive, and receptive to whatever pet owners’ preferences are!
Ratings and reviews
Alexis watched our dogs countless times over a period of a few years and I could not recommend her more. Our two dogs absolutely loved her and were always excited to be left with her. She sent pictures and text updates to let us know how they were doing and even handled an emergency vet situation flawlessly. We always came home to a clean house and two happy pups!
Alexis has cared for my dog (energetic lab), cat and chickens on several occasions. She is extremely responsible and reliable. I have never worried about the care my pets are getting and I know she looks after them like they are her own. She has stayed in my house to care for my pets as well as come over as needed to feed/walk them. I highly recommend Alexis - your pets will be in great hands! Julie W.
Alexis is a great dog and house sitter! I have a working breed that is high maintenance and doesn't like other dogs, and I've never worried about his quality of care when with her.

Schedule
As a grad student, I have more flexibility than standard 9-5ers, but often need to spend a big chunk of the day in the lab. I’m always able to leave around lunch, but weekdays typically require me to be gone for a few hours at a time. However, weekends are very flexible, and I am almost always available for overnights and have lots of time in the evenings and mornings for walks/runs. Sometimes I have periods of more writing and computer work, and during those times I can be at home with fur babies for more of the day.
