I'm working from home Tuesday - Wednesday and have a flexible schedule. Monday's and Fridays I am offsite 10am-4pm with little flexibility. I'm available in most mornings and evenings for drop in care and love to get a good afternoon walk in. I am not able to house sit pets who have separation anxiety or medical needs that prevent them from being left home alone, in a crate or otherwise, for less than 3 hours. Unfortunately, my schedule is such that I cannot accommodate those pets. Pets with punctual medication requirements may also not be a fit. Please be sure to reach out well in advance for pets with medication needs.

When I visit your pet in their home, I love to get down on the floor and give them some one on one attention and scratches as soon as I arrive. After some scratches, I'll give them their food, refresh their water and then check up on the space to make sure everything remains safe and habitable for your pet (no garbage, pet waste, open doors, stuck toys, etc). After your pet eats, we will spend some quality time together, playing, going for a walk or just snuggling.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs that I can account for. I'd like to know how your dog is around other dogs, people, children. This way I can be aware of places and situations to avoid on walks. If you have training in place that you would like to maintain please make me aware, (e.g. "my dog needs to stop and sit at crosswalks before we cross the street." OR "they should sit before they eat.")

I love to take your dog for a walk around their neighborhood. If you are comfortable with an outing, I love to walk around the Lafayette Reservoir or hike in Brionnes. If you have a yard I'm happy to play fetch with your dog or hide and seek with toys.

I've now been providing pet care through Rover for 2.5 years. Prior to that, I grew up with a spunky Welsh Terrier who lived till the ripe age of 16. While in High School I worked as a junior vet tech where I walked dogs, gave medication to dogs, cats and birds and cleaned. During college I gave drop in and over night care to a very loved senior lab. After college I had roommates with cats, and for 6 years I lived with my good friend who had between 3 - 6 dogs living with us at any given time (pit bulls, hounds, mutts and boarder collies). I'm a believer in maintaining training and manners as well as giving respect and lots of love.

Alexis did a wonderful job caring for our kitty. She did everything we asked and we returned to a happy cat and clean house. I've already booked Alexis for more cat sitting over the coming months. I'd recommend Alexis to anyone looking for a responsible pet sitter!
