Day to day live with my pets involves daily walks, play time in my fenced yard, enrichment feeders, and positive reinforcement based training sessions. I'd be happy to do any and all activities with your pets as well.
Information Alexis J. would like to know about your pet
I would like to be aware of any reactivity towards people or other dogs to ensure a safe, fun walk. I also like to know simpler things such as vet info, usual feeding/bathroom schedule, and any known allergies.
A typical day
Walks around your neighborhood would be the typical, default choice. However, if requested, I have the equipment to safely restrain dogs in the car and I would gladly take them down the the rail trail or other walking trails in/around the Beckley area.

Obviously, I am a big fan of dogs. I would love to spend time with and take care of your pup when you are unable to. I plan to expand my availability soon. I have 11 years of experience volunteering and working in animal shelters, caring for cats and dogs, as well as working as a professional dog trainer. During this time, I have developed a deep understanding of behavior, communication, and husbandry for companion animals. I'm sure your dog and I will become fast friends! My family had several dogs while I was growing up, and I was actively volunteering with my local animal shelter as soon as I turned 16. I took it one step further and have been working towards making it into a career. I completed the Karen Pryor Shelter Training & Enrichment program, worked full time for an animal rescue, am an approved AKC Evaluator, and am working towards taking the CCPDT knowledge assessment this September. Alexis has watched my dogs a few times over the years. I always love hearing about how my dogs were doing and getting a few cute pictures of them while I was away. Alexis always keeps in touch and even knows enough to watch over my garden, which really helps me relax while on vacation. My dogs are always excited to see Alexis.
