**We do not accept new clients without an initial meet and greet. Please do not contact us if you're not willing to meet first. ** I (Alexis) have loved dogs and animals of all sorts my whole life! I originally went to college for vet medicine so have experience working at a vet hospital. I have always found animal behavior fascinating. I ended up studying sociology and became a teacher but my love for animals and understanding them has persisted. I frequent blogs and social media groups that keep me constantly updated and educated on matters relating to animals. I am very in tune to their behavior and am great with working with different personalities, particularly when those personalities come together. Each animal has their own unique set of traits and should be loved and respected for all of them. I am available for boarding, daycare, drop ins, and dog walks during the day, with some evening availability as well. I work from home, and we are never usually away from the home for long. We are also pretty flexible with drop off and pick up times. I have a spacious home and a big back yard and 3 dogs of my own, one large and two small. I have 2 children. My husband, son and I all help take care and give love to our furry guests. No bells and whistles, but we can provide a comfortable, happy home for your pups. I do not crate dogs unless specified by owners or extenuating circumstances (I only have one crate). Dogs have free range of the home and are allowed on furniture, provided that is allowed by owner. If we leave for any given time, we have several gates to keep families separated for extra security and safety. I work from home, so I'm almost always nearby. We are never gone for more than 2-3 hours. I work in the evenings and on Sundays, and usually at those times my husband Alejandro is all hands on deck. Pups get taken out several times a day to play in the yard. For drop ins and walks, it's just me who does these and I'm usually only available during the day and late evening, and will usually have my 2 year old daughter with me. *For Drop-ins, boarding and walks, a meet and greet beforehand is necessary. I will not accept same day requests with new clients for safety purposes. Please do not make a request if it is same-day or if you are unable or unwilling to do a meet and greet beforehand, as sitter ratings can be negatively affected when we have to turn down service. * Pup safety and comfort is our number one priority. Likewise, safety of our family is important as well. This means we can't take dogs that are aggressive or some that are lacking socialization. We treat pups as we do our own and make sure to give them lots of love and respect. Dogs are separated during feeding to ensure safety. Toy play is monitored closely. I work from home and am never gone for very long so dogs get plenty of attention and time outside. They are let out several times a day, but are not left outside. We have a fenced yard and gates around the house in case dogs need to be temporarily separated, though our goal is to keep pups together.
