I have continuously worked with all sorts of animals in the past 15 years from exotics to pets. I have owned several different animals over the years. I have worked at a large animal shelter as a dog and cat socializer and walker, where I started my work learning animal behavior, body signals, and animal handling on all the shelter dogs and cats, no matter their trauma and attitude. During college I advanced my skills by earning a Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences with minor in Wild Captive Animal Management. Working on a quarter horse breeding and teaching facility, volunteered with a group that raises and trained mobility service dogs, and zookeeping internships at sevral facilities allowed me to increase and broaden my handling, behavior, and husbandry skills. In my work and life, I bring my love of animal behavior, training, relationships, and overall care into everything I do. Pet sitting is my only job right now so I am available for most of the daytime aside from drop-ins and walks. I am very familiar with animal that require medication (oral/injection), special needs animals, and following routines, procedures, cues for animals in training. Furthermore, working in a variety on animal care settings has allowed me to excel in observation and noting of animal illness, injury, and uncharacteristic behaviors for most species allowing me to better care for your pets well being.
