Hello! My name is Alex and I am currently a registered nurse. I moved to Fort Myers 2 years ago, but I am originally from Virginia. I love all animals but specifically, I have a real warm appreciation for dogs. Back in Virginia, my mother is a certified dog trainer and started her own dog training/boarding company so we had many different breeds at our house 24/7 and I loved every moment of it! I have learned many training tips from my mom, and ever since I moved to Florida I miss the comfort of having pups around which is why I joined Rover. I consider myself a person whose not only affectionate but very trustworthy, energetic, friendly, professional and reliable. These characteristics led me to my nursing career. My schedule is flexible and I can provide my own transportation. If you need to reach me, texting is the best way to contact me. I promise to take care of your dog as if it was my own. It is no surprise that humans can relate to the quote - "a dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than they love themself."

I know when I leave my two fur babies with Alex, they will have the full attention of a seasoned dog-lover! It was so much fun (and so reassuring) to see pictures of them happy, getting exercise and exploring new places when they were with her. She followed the dog care schedule I provided for her, and let me know how things were going when they stayed with her for a long weekend. One of my two dogs takes medication twice daily, and it was important to find someone like Alex who could be trusted to give it to her. She comes highly recommended!

Safety, trust & environment
I live in an apartment with my boyfriend and we have hosted many dogs before. We have 1 miniature dachshund who gets along well with other dogs. Our apartment complex is very dog friendly and has a dog park. For safety purposes and to keep your dog safe, I do not go to the dog park if there are other dogs there and I do not host dogs from different families at the same time.

A typical day
I believe dogs are like humans and need to be stimulated physically and mentally in order to be happy. I am a firm believer that a happy dog means they are moving a lot, which is why frequent outside play will be apart of our day! I also love to give your fur baby downtime by cuddling with them on my couch (especially on rainy days), or entertaining them with dog toys. No matter the activity, your dog will be monitored 24/7 and I am open to sending pictures throughout the day.
