Family-friendly home away from home
Dogs are my love language! I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats, volunteered at our local animal shelter, adopted my first dog when I was a sophomore in college (he passed away 5 years ago), completed a pre-veterinary undergraduate degree, and was a veterinary technician for a year. I am well-equipped to handle basic medication administrations, senior medical needs, ear flushes, puppy training, and more. I’m fascinated by the different breeds, and the endless combinations of mutts. I manage our house so am home during the days with lots of time for potty breaks and pets for your fur baby during the day. I love having some canine companions with me while I am home alone during the day, and as an added bonus, your dogs will be well socialized with kids and cats after staying a night with us. I look forward to stimulating your dog by walking or jogging slowly (whichever is best for their temperament, breed, age, etc.) and/or providing your dog with a home and loving family while you are out of town. As a pet and child parent myself, I know how important it is to find people you can trust - I would be honored to be this person for you. We are striving to raise our children with a strong sense of personal responsibility, respect, community, and love, and I believe pet sitting is an excellent way to show them these principles in action. About our home: Quiet during the school days, with typical family noises, toys, and activities in the evenings and weekends. A dog-friendly cat will be in the mix, along with a cat who loves to be in the room with the action. We will follow your typical rules and routines for obedience, furniture, crate, sleeping, feeding, etc. For shorter stays (2 nights or less), we may be able to accommodate a dog who is unfamiliar with cats, but for longer stays, a dog that is friendly with cats is best. I can’t wait to hear from you!

This was the first time using Rover and Alex was just a great choice. She and her family were delightful, sending me pics and keeping me posted. It was a great decision to opt for personal care rather than a kennel. She was flexible, and I would seek her services again based on the good vibes.
Alex did a great job taking care of our pup, Liza! She took her on runs, sent daily updates, and we were confident our dog was in great hands while we were away. Highly recommend!
Alex was so helpful for us. We needed somewhere to put our dogs for an evening for my daughters graduation from MSU and a few hiccups came up along the way and Alex was able to accommodate a few last minute changes. She sent us pictures and videos so we would know the animals had settled in. Definitely would recommend her.
Alex was awesome! I felt very confident in her taking my fur baby for 4 nights right away from our meet and greet! She sent pics and kept me informed of how things were going each day. She kept her on a schedule for feeding time and walked her every day even in bitter cold and ice and snow. Will book again with her for sure🐕🥰

Harmonogram
I left the work force a year ago and my children are at school during the day, so you’ll dogs will have a quiet house with plenty of potty breaks during the day, and a full house of love and play on the weekends! To minimize stress to your dog as they adjust to our household, I will follow your typical routine as much as possible (feeding routine, grooming, exercise, furniture rules, obedience and training, sleeping places, crate-time, etc., etc.) - I can't wait to hear about their unique personalities and care routines

For the safety for both your dog and for my family, I will supervise at all times, especially until your pup becomes familiar with our home and family. I also ask for the safety of all that all dogs are up to date on vaccines and on flea prevention.

As each dog is so very different in their needs (age, breed, size, training, temperament, medical needs, etc.), my “typical day” will vary depending on the dog entrusted to my care. My schedule can accommodate daily walks - multiple if needed - to ensure your pup is well exercised and stimulated! Playing fetch or with toys in the house will always be an option as well. I have baby gates I can use for puppies that chew or have occasional accidents, carpets I can put down to help with our older friends with traction issues on hardwood floors, and other accommodations can be made as well. I’m comfortable with administering medications and following dietary needs - all pets staying at “LewDew Estates” will have lots of fresh water, love, and pictures! I like to send daily updates to let families know how their pup is playing and relaxing during their stay (but of course can send less as preferred)
