Huge fully fenced yard & 2 sitters!

*We are slowing down our pet sitting business, and are currently only taking existing clients. EXISTING CLIENTS: Our calendar may not be up to date, please reach out to request dates. We are not booking more than 2 months out.* We are lifelong dog lovers, each having grown up with a childhood dog, and now we’ve got two rescue pups – Bane and Laya – of our own. Before we moved to Connecticut from the greater Boston area in 2021, we were volunteers at a local dog shelter for 3+ years. Our family and friends have trusted us with their dogs while they traveled on numerous occasions, and we look forward to taking care of your pups, too.

I had an amazing experience with Alexandra and Kyle! They were genuinely caring towards my dog Frankie and incredibly attentive to him; giving him lots of attention. Daily updates with photos and a video kept me at ease while I was away. Upon picking up Frankie he seemed happy and relaxed. The fenced in yard was dog-friendly and clean. I highly recommend Alexandra and Kyle and will book with them again!

Calendar and availability

Schedule

We both work from home Monday through Friday, and outside of work, our lives revolve around our dogs – they let us know when it’s time to wake up, when it’s time for bed, and pretty much everything in between. WEEKDAY DROPOFFS: If you are hoping to drop off your dog during the week, we may require an early morning (before 8am) drop off so that all of the dogs can settle before we begin our work days. We will let you know if this applies to you when you request to book. ADVANCED BOOKINGS: We are not currently booking more than 2 months in advance of a dog’s stay.

Safety, trust & environment

We require a brief meet and greet for all new clients before we can commit to caring for your pup. For boarding and daycare, weather permitting, meet and greets take place in our fully fenced backyard so that (1) the dogs can get to know one another off leash and (2) we can all assess whether it’ll be a good fit for boarding/daycare. We politely ask that you leave young children at home or in the car during these meet and greets to ensure we’re seeing an accurate representation of how all the dogs might behave during boarding/daycare (we do not have children in the home). During boarding/daycare, our dogs freely roam our home, but we can separate and supervise as needed. Outdoor play is always supervised. We also feed the dogs separately, or as otherwise specified by owners (e.g. in their crate). Note: We are not currently accepting dogs from multiple clients at a time, but may make exceptions for repeat clients that we are familiar with. We will let you know if this exception applies to you or your booking (whether you are a new or repeat client). All of our clients are required to schedule a meet and greet before their stay, and we will never agree to take a dog that we feel may create an unsafe environment for the other dogs in our home (our clients' or our own).

Pets

A typical day

Our dogs and boarding/daycare clients typically spend their days playing or napping in the living room and romping around our fully fenced yard (see photo, chain link fence is 4 feet tall). They will often tire themselves out playing with one another, but we are happy to take your dog for walks (weather permitting) around our quiet neighborhood if you prefer or that’s what they’re used to for daily exercise. We just ask that you provide a standard leash (we will not walk dogs using retractable leashes). If your pup likes to play fetch, we’ve got frisbees, Jolly Balls, and a Chuck-It stick for the backyard. If they prefer to curl up on the couch instead of the floor for a nap, we’re fine with that! Let us know what your dog’s regular routine is like, and we’ll do what we can to keep things as consistent as possible during their stay. HIGH ENERGY DOGS: We may not be a good fit if your dog’s energy levels exceed those of our own dogs and/or if your dog requires exercise beyond backyard play + 1-2 brief walks/day. In some cases, we’ll accept high energy dogs at our puppy rate to ensure we are able to provide the engagement your dog requires.

Please ensure your dog’s Rover profile is filled out to the best of your ability! Prior to your first boarding/daycare and after your meet and greet, we will have you complete a brief intake form that will fill in any gaps that Rover does not capture (e.g. eating habits, anything behavioral to be aware of, prey drive, known medical issues). As of May 2025, for the safety of all dogs in our care, we are also asking clients to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations (rabies, bordetella, etc.) — alternatively, we will accept titer test documentation showing immunity to these conditions. Instructions for sharing this documentation is included in the intake form. Lastly, please let us know if your dog is NOT on any flea and tick preventative — we live in a woodsy area and want to make sure they’re safe.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
