I've cared for dogs my whole life, having worked with them in a more professional setting for the last 10 years or so, sitting, walking, and training. I studied Animal Behavior at Virginia Tech with an emphasis on shelter dog behavior and training, working with local shelters to prepare dogs for their fur-ever homes! Positive reinforcement is my specialty, and I've worked with all kinds of dogs to help with behavioral concerns and basic skills (e.g., walking on a leash, sitting/staying, etc.). In undergrad, I gained experience administering medication as well. I also have experience with large dogs and I love working with them!

Safety, trust & environment
I am a full proponent of always keeping dogs on leashes when not in a secure location. Using long lines (30 ft leashes), I can play fetch or other games with your animals. If that doesn't sound doable for you, I also can walk them and then play some games inside to get their minds tired as well as their bodies. Everyone has different rules for their pets, so I will follow any guidelines you set.

Lexie was amazing with our dog Rigsby. She cared for him as if he was part of her family and made sure to give him plenty of play time and affection while we were out of town. She even accepted the reservation at the last minute and agreed to help for an extra day when our flight was delayed. We can’t recommend her enough!
Lexie loves dogs and she is great with them! (They love her too! And they listen to her!) As she gets to know each dog, she pays close attention to their body language and behavioral cues to adjust to them, making playing and working together a partnership. She is very responsible, dependable, knowledgeable, and caring. Very lucky to have her work with our family pups!

Schedule
My schedule is very flexible, so spending an extended time with your animals is my goal. Typically, I spend at least 45 minutes with any animal I’m checking in on so they have a little time to calm down after the initial arrival and playtime.
