I work from home as a dog groomer, and so working for myself means I can work around your dog's needs. Ideally I would work on bringing them to work with me, but only if I was sure about their safety and happiness. For cat or small animal visits, I would discuss with you what your normal routine is around feeding and socialising with them and mirror what I can to keep them as calm and reassured as possible in their own home.

I have my own car that is suited to transport cats and dogs . I have carriers, collars and leads as well as contacts at 2 different local vets. I am aware of some very safe dog walk locations. I am used to medications and dietary requirements as well as physical needs (one of my dogs had a metal plate in his legs and then eventually had it removed, another has had issues with her cruciate ligament) I will also not post any information on social media about where I am or who I am looking after until you are already back from your holiday. I will obviously update Rover whilst you are away and stay in regular contacts so that you have peace of mind. As I am also a god groomer, I can continue any grooming routines you have and may be able to sneak in a cheeky bath, face tidy and nail trim if you needed it.

I adore cats, and I adore dogs. I have a soft spot for giant dogs and dogs that are a little more nervous. I am happy to work with you and your nervous pet several times before an appointment so that they are as comfortable as possible in your absence. Allergies and behaviour triggers are probably the most important thing I need to know. I don't want to play with your cats toe-beans if they hate it, or walk in with a hat on if your dog doesn't like hats.
A typical day
I will discuss with you what you pet needs and what their routine is. I will mirror this as closely as I can. I am happy to take them on long walks and would only let them off the lead if I felt confident of their recall and you had already given permission for that. Alternatively, if they are used to shorter walks, I can also accommodate that. If the weather is miserable, too hot or your dog is not able to get out and about, I know that foraging games are very good for mental stimulation and have a variety of tricks up my sleeve for this. For cats, I know that laser pens and feathers are brilliant at getting them to feel comfortable and curious enough to play. I am always happy for a cuddle if they would rather do that and won't be offended if they leave me alone with a laser pen because they are too majestic to grace me with their presence (I have one of each of these cats myself)

I have a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management that includes a first aid course. I help my boyfriend run his successful dog day-care business, (open 10 years this year), which has had many different breeds and temperaments of dogs. From Dachshunds to Ridgebacks. I have experience with boarding at home for pre-existing clients, and I am branching out to offer sitting in your own home. I have specialised in nervous and anxious dogs in my dog grooming business.
