Safety, trust & environment

In my home, dogs get plenty of attention, playtime, and rest in a calm, cozy environment. My typical routine includes two shorter potty breaks plus a longer walk (up to an hour), tailored to your dog’s age, energy level, and preferences. I walk one dog at a time for safety, unless I’m caring for two pets from the same household. I follow all feeding and medication instructions carefully and ensure pets always have fresh water. I only walk dogs on-leash and avoid high-traffic areas. When pet-sitting cats, I clean the litter box daily, provide fresh food and water, and offer playtime, social interaction, and brushing (if they enjoy it). Whether I’m caring for pets in your home or mine, I aim to create a calm, familiar routine to help them feel safe and loved.

Walks, Stays & TLC in East Van

Pet care experience

I'm a lifelong animal lover and experienced caregiver based in East Vancouver. For over 2.5 years, I’ve been walking and boarding dogs and pet-sitting cats, bringing decades of personal experience to every booking. As a teen, I helped care for our neighbor's farm animals, and I’ve been a devoted pet parent since the '90s — most recently to our sweet dog Isabelle, who passed in 2020. Since then, I’ve stayed connected to animals through fostering, pet sitting for neighbors, and dog walking around East Van. I’m mature, reliable, and calm under pressure. My flexible schedule allows me to give pets the time, attention, and care they deserve. I have experience with both dogs and cats, including seniors, and I’m comfortable administering medications. I’m also certified in Pet First Aid through Walks ‘N’ Wags. Whether your furry companion needs a walk, some companionship while you're away, or a cozy home for overnight stays, I offer loving, attentive care — just like I would for my own. Let’s set up a meet-and-greet to see if we’re a good fit!

Alex was absolutely amazing with our senior dog, Diesel, while we were away in Vancouver and on the Island. And when I say senior, I mean Diesel is basically a retired gentleman who has decided that eating is now optional. Diesel is elderly, on medication and special food, and has been slowly declining with age. He had also lost some weight recently, and had some medical issues so leaving him while we went away was definitely giving us some anxiety. Alex, however, took all of that completely in stride and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable, cared for, and actually eating. She sent us daily pictures and updates, which was incredibly reassuring (and also allowed us to continue our vacation while obsessively analyzing pictures of our dog like they were breaking news). When Diesel wasn't eating enough, Alex didn't just tell us about it…she went into full senior-dog nutritionist mode. She went out and bought cheese to help him take his medication, offered peanut butter and avocado oil to sneak in some extra calories, and tried different ways to encourage him to eat. And then she made him an egg. This is important because Diesel has rejected every single egg we have ever made for him in his entire life. Apparently, we have been making eggs incorrectly for 12 years, because Alex made one and he ate it. 😂 At this point, I'm not sure if we hired a dog sitter or a five-star personal chef. What meant the most to us was that Alex genuinely cared about Diesel. She was patient with him, attentive to his needs, and constantly looking for little ways to make things easier for him. She also supported us while we were away and never made us feel like we were bothering her with our old-man-dog concerns. She was a true lifesaver and gave us so much peace of mind knowing Diesel was being loved and looked after while we were gone. We came home to a very happy, very spoiled senior citizen who had apparently been eating better for Alex than he does for us. 😅 We couldn't recommend Alex more. She is thoughtful, compassionate, proactive, and clearly has some sort of magical ability to convince stubborn elderly dogs to eat things they've rejected for their entire existence. Diesel would happily have her back. And honestly, we're pretty sure he liked her more than us by the end of the trip. ❤️
