I grew up around dogs - a golden retriever named Rusty, a poodle named Pierre, and a Coton de Tulear named Sinatra. And I have two brother cats at home, Peekee and Owl, who keep me young at heart. I love being around all types of dogs and cats and get a lot of fulfillment just by being in their company. I have a way with animals that leaves both of us better off for being together. It's been helpful, too, that my aunt is a veterinarian and that I spent time over the years helping out at her practice in PA. She has been a dependable resource for me especially when I get to pick her brain about various ideas. Until two years ago, I had a cat named Simba who was a very dear companion for 13 years. I had adopted him in NYC, was his third owner, and steadily built trust with him over the years. I administered insulin shots to him twice daily once it was clear he was diabetic and I adapted my caretaking strategies and mannerisms in stride. Needless to say, I have learned the necessity and benefits of meeting each animal where they are and establishing trust and safety from there. I can offer you the following things: -sincere care and affection for your pet -play time and walks for exercise and change of scenery -timely feeding/brushing -easy availability to update you on how your pet is enjoying our time together.
