Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Alexander (he/him) but Alex is just fine! I have a seven year old son who goes on every booking with me. He’s been doing this with me his entire life and is great around dogs, cats, and other animals. I strive to keep your pets comfortable, loved, and tuckered out! I am a volunteer with Independent Animal Rescue. I have basic obedience knowledge and am excellent at reading dog body language. I will treat your animal as my own and give the best care I am capable of. I pet sit full time, so I can offer 24/7 care. Photography is a passion of mine so please expect tons of pictures! MEET AND GREETS: The initial meet and greet is used to make sure I am compatible with your animals and their needs. This is where I ask about activity level, walking stamina, dietary needs, medication needs, where the animals stay when no one is home, how long they are usually left alone for, as well as answer any questions you may have. This is also the time to meet the animals and make sure I am the best match for you and your pets. Keys are exchanged at this meeting as well. Overall, this is the chance to make sure I am the sitter you need for your unique stay. I want to know your animals as well as possible so I can provide the perfect care. DROP INS: When I first arrive at a drop in, I make a note of where your animal is and what they were doing. Any medications (oral, topical, or injection!) and food are given. Then I will take them outside for a potty break or short walk, depending on their activity level! We will come in and spend the remainder of the time playing or snuggling. If the drop in is booked at a sixty minute interval, I lengthen the walk and time spent snuggling or playing. Description will include any picky eating and how I worked to solve it, what form of playing there was, where we walked, how their demeanor started and ended, and how I left them. I try my best to be as detailed as possible to give owners peace of mind. HOUSE SITTING: When I first arrive for a house sit, I call the animals to make sure everyone is accounted for and happy to see me. I will usually let the animals out to potty first thing so any nervous or submissive peeing happens outside. I stick as close to their normal routine as possible. This may include walks, play time in the yard, play time in the house, or just some good old fashioned snuggling. Since I follow their routine, the pets are calmer and more receptive to me being in their space. With owner permission, I will bring high quality treats to ease the transition. With house sitting, I take care of the pets as well as doing light cleaning around the house. I will do any dishes, sweep, mop, vacuum, check the mail, take out the trash, and receive any packages. I strive to provide updates as soon as I arrive, upon waking, after meal times, and before bed. I am happy to send pictures and/or descriptions as often or as little as you like. I look forward to meeting you and your pets! I will stick to the routine of your pet as you lay it out for me. I always include extra time for love and affection!
