Ultimate Dog Sitter in Uptown

Hello! 👋☺️ my name is Alex and I have been a dog and pet sitter for 10 years. I also have experience working for animal rescue organizations, which has given me invaluable knowledge and skills in caring for pets of all kinds and working through different personalities and breeds. As a sitter, my primary focus is ensuring your pets are happy, comfortable, and well-cared for while you're away. Whether it's taking them for daily walks, providing them playtime and exercise, or simply giving them all love and attention they deserve. I live in Uptown with my dog Nigel - a 30lb mixed breed 3yo pup - and we have a quiet time here and within a 5 minutes walk to the dog park and beach. I understand how important it is for pet owners to feel confident in their sitter's abilities, which is why I'll keep you updated with regular photos and updates throughout their entire stay. In fact, I used to do marketing for the animal rescues I worked for, so honestly get ready to have some glamor shots sent to you! Truly, the best thing I hear from my clients when they pick up their pets is that they were able to relax on their trip knowing that their pets were in such good hands. So, if you're looking for a responsible, reliable, and experienced pet sitter, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I'm happy to help take care of your pets while you're out of town, at work, or just need some alone time. 🙏

Alexander did a great job with Flick. I was away for several days and he stopped by to walk and feed Flick. He had excellent communication and was helpful when my trip got extended by a day. Highly recommend.

Alexander was wonderful with my pet while i was gone for a weekend. They followed instructions and even went above and beyond for my pup! Will contact Alexander again if another situation pops up.

I do not recommend Alexander for cats. Most of the time when I checked in during a visit the cats weren't in the room with him, or they were sitting off to the side watching him on his phone. His attention to them for the hour long visits seemed better after I reached out. Their food, water, and liter are all automated and I specifically requested the water fountain get refilled but it was almost empty when I got home. The liter box, while 95% of the time is reliable, does get stuck in a cycle, which it did. A quick message to me and I could have told him what button to hit to fix it. The box was literally overflowing, it seemed like it had been stuck for days. Fill the water, check the liter box, and play with and pet my cats for an hour. Cats were not the right fit.

Schedule

My work schedule has me working from home. There are unique needs of different dogs. Whether it's taking them for walks, playtime, or administering medication, I can adjust your day to meet the individual requirements of each pet.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Does not have a yard
Non-smoking household
Has 1 dog
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have the most patience for animals and never punish my dog for accidents in the house. Since I work from home, I'm able to provide a constant and reassuring presence for your dogs. Unlike a kennel where the environment might be unfamiliar and noisy, my home offers a more comfortable and familiar setting. In case of emergencies or unexpected situations, my immediate availability allows for quick responses and necessary actions when it is needed. This can be particularly reassuring for dog dads & moms who want to ensure their dogs are well taken care of, even in unforeseen circumstances.

Pets

A typical day

Typical day is we wake up and go for a good 10 minute walk in the morning, then come home have a bone or treat and then usually we have a noon time dog park adventure, then have food around 1/2, and another dog park adventure in the evening as well (weather and schedule permitting)

0 to 15 lbs

41 to 100 lbs
Non-neutered males accepted, spayed females only
No females in heat
Alexander can host up to 1 pet per night
I prefer lower energy breeds, and smaller dogs are great with my dog Nigel. He is really adaptable to any energy of dog. If you have an elder dog, I have experience there with a few of my previous dogs as well as experience at shelters.
