Pet care experience

Fenced Yard • Full-Time Care

This December, we said goodbye to our beloved Golden Retriever after a battle with cancer. He was a deeply loved member of our family, and our home still carries that love for dogs every day. Becoming Rover hosts is, for us, about sharing that love again and continuing to care for dogs the way we always have. We love dogs and are experienced and very responsible dog owners, and we treat every dog as part of the family. What makes our home special: • We only host one household at a time (maximum of two dogs, and only if they come from the same family). • If you have one dog — it will be just your dog staying with us. • We have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play. • We live in Sudbury, a safe and beautiful area perfect for long walks. • Both of us work from home, so your dog will receive consistent attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. • Our children (ages 9 and 12) genuinely love dogs and spend lots of time playing, engaging, and giving gentle affection. And in honor of our sweet boy… Golden Retrievers automatically receive a small “in spirit” discount. 💛 (We might be slightly biased.) We understand how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone else — we’ve been in your position. That’s why we require a meet-and-greet before any booking to make sure it’s a great fit for everyone and that your dog feels comfortable in our home. For us, hosting isn’t about volume — it’s about providing a calm, safe, loving environment where your dog feels secure and cared for. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, we’d love to meet you and your pup.

We had a great experience with Alexander and Anna! They were very kind and communicative leading up to and while our dog stayed with them.

Wonderful dog sitters. The family took amazing care of our beloved Golden Ruby. Ruby had attention and love and perfect care, and the family was very quick and great about communication with me. Don't hesitate to leave your pet with Alexander/Sasha and Anna.

Alexander is an exceptionally responsible and caring pet caregiver. He is kind, communicative and attentive. Any pet owner would be fortunate to have Alexander care for their pet.

I’ve known Alexander for decades and closely witnessed his stellar caregiving skills. The amount of love and care he’s given to our beloved pit mix Eddy surpasses the amount of attention many parents give to their children. Would trust my dog/cat/turtle/gold fish or a baby seal without any hesitation. Six star Yelp review. Your pets are going to absolutely love him. And you’ll be very happy with his caregiving skills, I guarantee it. Aleksey

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into our daily routine because both of us work from home. Your dog will not be left alone for long stretches and will be part of our normal day-to-day life. Our typical day includes: • Morning walk before work • Yard time and play breaks throughout the day • Midday potty break and engagement • Afternoon/evening long walk around our quiet Sudbury neighborhood • Family time in the evenings (our kids love playing, gentle fetch, and giving attention) Because we only host one household at a time, your dog receives focused attention rather than being one of many. We build our schedule around their needs — feeding routines, medication if needed, exercise level, and any special instructions you provide. Weekends are even more relaxed and active, with longer walks and extra outdoor time. For us, pet care isn’t something we squeeze into our schedule — it becomes part of it.

Safety, trust & environment

When pets stay in our home, they become part of our daily family routine in a calm and structured environment. We maintain the owner’s feeding schedule, walk routine, sleep habits, and any specific instructions carefully. We understand that consistency is important for dogs, especially when they’re away from home. Because we only host one household at a time (maximum two dogs from the same family), your dog will never feel overwhelmed by a crowded environment. This allows us to provide focused attention and maintain a peaceful atmosphere. Safety is a priority: • Fully fenced yard for secure outdoor time • Supervised play and interaction • No unsupervised mixing with unfamiliar dogs • Meet-and-greet required before booking to ensure compatibility Dogs are allowed to relax in our living spaces and be near us throughout the day. Both of us work from home, so they receive companionship, engagement, and regular outdoor breaks. If we are caring for a pet in a client’s home (if you choose to offer that service), we follow your routines closely, respect your home, and provide updates and photos so you feel confident and connected while you’re away. Our goal is simple: your dog should feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for — not just watched.

A typical day

We tailor activities to each dog’s personality and energy level — some love long walks and active play, while others prefer calm companionship and lounging nearby. In our home, fun usually includes: • Long walks around our quiet Sudbury neighborhood • Safe yard play in our fully fenced backyard • Fetch, gentle games, and interactive toys • Family time in the evenings (our kids love supervised play and attention) • Relaxed cuddle time if your dog enjoys affection Because we only host one household at a time, we can really focus on your dog’s individual needs rather than managing a group. If your dog is energetic, we’ll keep them moving. If they’re older or more relaxed, we’ll match that pace. Our goal is simple: your dog should feel engaged, loved, and comfortable — like they’re on a little vacation of their own.

To provide the best care possible, we like to know a few important things about your dog ahead of time: • Temperament around children (we have kids ages 9 and 12) • Comfort level being in a new home • Energy level and exercise needs • Feeding schedule and dietary restrictions • Any medical conditions, medications, or allergies • Sleep habits (crate, dog bed, prefers couch, etc.) • House training status • How they do on leash and during walks • Any triggers (other dogs, loud noises, resource guarding, etc.) Because we only host one household at a time, we want to ensure it’s a good match and that your dog feels comfortable and safe in our environment. We require a meet-and-greet before booking so we can observe how your dog settles in and answer any questions you may have. Open communication is very important to us — the more we know, the better we can make your dog’s stay relaxed and enjoyable.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
