Availability
I own my own business so my schedule is fairly flexible to fit in caring for your furry friend. My husband and I often work from home and on occasion am only away for about 4-6 hours at a time, so between the two of us, your dog will rarely be alone for too much time. I treat the dogs in my care with as much love as someone would their own, even bringing them along with me on social outings with family and friends. They truly get integrated into our lives in a beautiful way. I am looking to start long term relationships with a few new dogs, either for weekly walks or being in rotation as their pet sitter when parents are out of town. I’ve heard so many horror stories of people hiring Rovers and essentially being lied to about the care their pet will receive, and I can assure you 100% you’ll never have any concern of that with me. I go above and beyond.

Safety, trust & environment
I aim to make your dog as comfortable as possible, sticking to their routine and traditions. When walking and playing with your dog, usually I let them set the pace — I’ve learned that stopping to sniff is even more important mental exercise than any physical benefit from a faster pace. But whatever you and your pet are used to is fine by me. I grew up with a more well-trained walking style for the dogs in my house, so I respect either style. I live with my husband and 13 year old stepdaughter (who is a HUGE animal lover and very gentle and sweet with any living thing), so your pup will have 3 people who love them for the price of 1 :)

Information Alexa S. would like to know about your pet
I’m a details person, so the more info ahead of time, the better. Not only will it help me and your dog have the best time possible together, but it will also give you peace of mind that I really listen and care. Anything you think is important, I think is important. A few things to note: • Fully house-trained, non-destructive • Spayed/neutered • Up-to-date vaccines & flea/tick prevention • Friendly with people and other dogs, non-reactive, and safely manageable in our family home • All new families start with a free meet & greet at our house I’ll also add that we are a very social household, and many different people — often little kids, and sometimes another dog or two — may stop by for a hang. This means that for everyone’s safety (including your dog’s), we must decline bookings with dogs who have any history of aggression, reactivity, or extreme anxiety. This is our family home, not a kennel, and we will always treat your dog as a member of our family while they’re in our care.
A typical day
We recently bought our first home, just a few blocks from Maple Leaf Reservoir Park. In between work meetings we can head to the park for a walk and a sniff in the quiet surrounding neighborhood that’s filled with many interesting smells (or so the dogs tell me!) If your dog is a good car-rider, we can go to other parks around town too. I have an Outback with a dog sling for the backseat. We often host or attend dinner parties at friends’ homes around the city and love to bring the pup with us to meet new friends (and have less alone time).

The Family Dog 🐾
Pet care experience
I grew up with goldens, and even started my own small business as a kid called “Alexa’s Pampered Pets” where I took care of about a dozen of my neighbors’ pets throughout the summertime. As an adult, my husband and I had been waiting until we had a proper yard to get our own dog, but now that we do have our own home with a great (soon to be!) fenced yard we have fallen in love with too many of YOUR furry loved ones to stop now.
Reviews

Alexa provided last minute support for a dog walk for our lab puppy and was a huge help! We appreciated her thoughtful, clear communication and helpful updates. Our puppy was happily exhausted after a fun walk and sniff with some play time. We will definitely work with her again!

Alexa was a fantastic care taker to my two border collies. I got frequent pictures and videos and it was clear my dogs settled in early! They were right at home. Alexa was incredibly communicative throughout their stay and I would absolutely use her again in the future. Your pets would be lucky to stay with her!

Alexa and her family were such great hosts and caretakers for our dog Bo - lovely to coordinate with and obviously provided a super good care. Could tell Bo was relaxed and happy from the regular photo/video updates. Will definitely try to rebook with Alexa again soon! 🐾 🦮❤️

Thank you again Alexa for stopping by and giving Kona a walk while we had a long day out!So flexible and convenient!
