Availability
My schedule is flexible throughout the week, allowing me to accommodate daycare, boarding, walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I keep my availability updated and communicate clearly about scheduling so you always know what to expect. I’m happy to work around your pet’s established routine whenever possible, including feeding times, walks, potty breaks, medication schedules, playtime, and plenty of attention. I want their routine to feel as normal and comfortable as possible while you’re away!

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is always my first priority. With 5 years of experience as a veterinary assistant and additional experience in dog daycare and boarding, I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different sizes, ages, energy levels, and personalities. I take time to learn each pet’s normal routine, behavior, and needs, and I pay close attention to body language and any changes in behavior, appetite, energy, or overall comfort. I use positive reinforcement and provide a calm, clean, and attentive environment. For pets staying in my home, introductions are handled carefully and I prioritize safe interactions with my own dogs. In a client’s home, I respect both their pet’s routine and their space. I’m also happy to provide regular photos and updates so you can relax knowing your pet is safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

Information Alexa Q. would like to know about your pet
The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them! Please tell me about their normal routine, feeding schedule, energy level, medications or allergies, anxieties, triggers, favorite activities, and any special needs or quirks. For dogs, I’d also like to know how they interact with other dogs and people, how they behave on leash, how long they’re comfortable being left alone, and whether they have any history of reactivity, resource guarding, aggression, or escape behavior. Please don’t worry about scaring me away by being honest - I would always rather know beforehand so I can prepare appropriately and make sure we’re a good fit. For daycare and boarding, please also let me know about vaccination status and anything else that could affect safe interactions with other pets. My priority is making sure everyone in my care is safe, comfortable, and happy.
A typical day
Every day is tailored to the pet I’m caring for! I like to follow their normal routine while incorporating the things they love most - whether that’s a long sniffy walk, a game of fetch or tug-of-war, interactive play, enrichment, or just hanging out and getting belly rubs and attention. For high-energy pups, I love keeping them engaged with play, walks, and mental stimulation. For puppies, seniors, shy pets, or professional couch potatoes, I’m just as happy to slow things down and give them the kind of attention that makes them comfortable. There will also be plenty of affection, potty breaks, fresh water, and photo updates along the way! 🐾

5 Yr Vet Assistant | Loving Care
Pet care experience
Hi there! 🐾 I’m Alexa, a lifelong animal lover with years of professional, hands-on animal care experience. I spent 5 years working as a veterinary assistant and also have experience working in a dog daycare and boarding environment, so caring for animals goes far beyond simply being a pet owner for me. I also completed a 4-year zoology and environmental science program on-site at Zoo Miami, where I had the opportunity to study and work around animals of all kinds. At home, I have two dogs of my own who are very much part of the family! My professional experience has made me comfortable with dogs of different sizes, ages, personalities, and energy levels. I understand how important it is to pay attention to the little things - changes in behavior, appetite, energy, body language, bathroom habits, and overall comfort. I’m patient, attentive, clean, reliable, and big on communication. I use positive reinforcement and always take the time to learn each pet’s individual routine and personality rather than treating every animal the same. Whether your pet is staying with me, I’m staying with them, or they just need a walk or drop-in visit, my goal is simple: to make them feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while giving you peace of mind while you’re away. ❤️

Reviews
Alexa is very knowledgeable about all breeds as she’s worked with dog boarding services in the past; she is very aware of your pets needs, and also goes above and beyond to ensure your pets are as comfortable as possible. Alexa also has worked hand in hand with vets, and has vets in the family which just gives extra peace of mind. I would trust my pets with Alexa.
