Imagine being on a work trip 2500 miles away and trusting your pets to a stranger only to find out one of my 2 dogs was not given water for 24 hours and only allowed 40 seconds to start eating his breakfast before being taken away from him. My instructions were clear, take the water up 30 minutes after their dinner (about 8pm) to avoid one of the dogs urinating in the house overnight. Thankfully I have cameras and checked in. Rather than let the dogs out after holding it for 8 hours or so, she fed them and took her time before letting them out. Normally you let dogs out after that long then feed them when they come back in. Water taken up at 5:45pm, immediately after they ate. No chance given to drink. Water taken out at 6:00am for 1 dog who was extremely thirsty due to being deprived of water too long. Then taken away again and let out. Other dog comes out, no water offered, food offered for 40 seconds, then let out. Would you eat or drink anything when you’ve held it all night and needed to go to the bathroom? Probably not. Had he gone out first then been offered water (he drinks before eating dry food) he would have eaten breakfast. Water would not have been given till 5:30pm when she returned after work. When I saw what was happening, I cancelled her services and contacted someone else to take care of my dogs. Although a nice person, Alexa can’t be trusted to keep your pets safe and fed properly. She lacks the situational awareness for pet sitting that is required. This is demonstrated by confirming my instructions by text yet telling me she “thought” she gave them both water. She claimed to have experience with frenchies but when she first arrived. Allowed one to jump around down as she laughed, and was more concerned with taking a video of them to show her friends than let them out after walking in the door. If you have experience with frenchies, you would know they are prone to IVDD and allowing jumping can cause them to be paralyzed for life or death. Anyone choosing this sitter should think twice before leaving your babies with her. Thank god I had cameras. If you don’t have them, I’d recommend some for sure. Please vet these sitters better. Having dogs your whole life doesn’t alone qualify someone to dog sit.

Alexa was wonderful with Rocky and Laika. She was available with short notice and treated them so well. She communicated incredibly well and was very respectful of our space. I would have her come back and help out with the dogs any time.

Alexa was absolutely wonderful! She took the time to meet our babies beforehand since they can be a little extra at times, and they immediately felt comfortable and at ease with her. She kept us updated with several pictures, and her communication throughout was excellent. Most importantly, our babies were truly loved and cared for while we were away. We also just moved into a new home from out of state, and many of our belongings — including our couch — still haven’t arrived. We always want our sitters to feel as comfortable as possible, and Alexa was incredibly understanding and kind about our situation, which gave me such peace of mind. I would absolutely recommend Alexa, and I know our babies will be in great hands when we book with her again!
