I’ve been around dogs for as long as I can remember, and my love for them started when I was just a kid. One of my earliest experiences was caring for my neighbor’s golden retriever, Emmett — a 110-pound “baby bear” who quickly became my best friend. After school, I would walk him, feed him, and keep him company until his owner returned late in the evening. That experience taught me that dogs are more than pets — they’re true companions, and I knew from then on that caring for them would always be a part of my life. Since then, I’ve had years of experience with my own dog, Kona, a smart and loving Jack Russell Terrier who I’ve cared for since I was 14. I’ve walked her, trained her, fed her, and made sure she always had everything she needed — from regular grooming to urgent care when she was stung by a bee. I’ve also helped care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including puppies, seniors, and even a special needs dog who was blind, deaf, and diabetic. I’ve given insulin injections, handled diaper changes for senior pups, and learned that patience, attention, and compassion go a long way in making dogs feel safe and loved. What sets me apart as a sitter is the way I connect with dogs. I don’t just see them as animals — I see them as family members with unique personalities and feelings. I give every dog my full attention, treating them with the same love and care I give my own. Whether it’s long walks (I love being outdoors and usually make sure dogs get at least 3 miles a day), playing fetch, or simply sitting together for comfort, I tailor my care to meet their needs. I even use calming dog music for pups who are shy, anxious, or overstimulated, creating a peaceful environment when they need it most. Above all, my philosophy is simple: your dog is my dog while they’re with me. I prioritize safety, clean water, exercise, and plenty of love. Dogs bring so much joy and healing to our lives, and I’m honored every time I get the chance to give that love back to them.
