Pet care experience

All pets/owners deserve security

Reliability, patience, and empathy are how I approach everything in life. I just happen to love animals, and have taken care of dogs since I was 12. I’ve shadowed dog trainers the past two years, and while my priority is to give your pup the love and attention they deserve, I also know how to foster a healthier relationship between owners and their pets. Whether it’s helping dogs who are reactive to other dogs, or as simple as tugging on the leash during a walk, my goal is always to enrich the lives of the dogs I meet, and strengthen the trust between them and their loving family.

Drop-In Visits • Apr 17, 2025

Hi there! This was my very first time using Rover and I was certainly very nervous to entrust my little guy with a new sitter since our recent move! However, Alex was fabulous ! He is everything you could want and more from a sitter and from a caregiver to your furry friends/family. Alex is extremely responsive, he arranged for at least 2 visits to meet my cat Oliver and to review schedule, questions, concerns, diet etc. Before actually starting the pet sitting. He got to know Oliver and his demeanor, and my cat took to Alex right away. Alex is gentle, playful and affectionate and you can see that he genuinely cares. I always worry when returning back from a trip about how Oliver may be and how my home may look, and Alex took such great care of my cat and my home looks just as I left it. I now feel comfortable going on more trips to see loved ones and I couldn't have done this without Alex.

Alex braved the recent extreme cold and took great care that our dog got outside but remained safe.

Schedule

My schedule is wide open and arranged around my son’s school and care. When I’m not in dad mode, I’m in dog mode with a flexibility that allows me to provide consistent walks and establish strong relationships between my clients and I. All mornings, most afternoons, and every other weekend, rain or snow, I’m happy to tend to yours and your animal’s needs.

Safety, trust & environment

I see my role in two ways, making sure your pet feels secure and has fun, while making sure you feel secure as you’re entrusting me to show a member of your family the care they need and deserve. I come to my clients for walks, and I come into their house to check on pets/pet sit. Respect for my clients, their boundaries, and how they wish for their pets to be taken care of is the most important way to build trust.

A typical day

Typically I’ll bring tug toys, enrichment activities, and treats so your dog can both have activities for pure fun and for stimulating their minds. We’ll spend some time outside, ideally at a park. I want them to be able to get their energy out, feel good, and enjoy some companionship because I’m sure they’ll be missing you.

I want to know if your dog is more hyper or calm, if they get along with other dogs, their level of reactivity, what makes them the happiest, what level of training they’ve had. It’s just about knowing the basics so there are no issues, and both you and your dog can have peace of mind.
