Calm, countryside pup boarding

I just love dogs, all shapes and sizes! I have lifelong experience with dogs of small/medium breeds. After recently losing my own beloved 3-legged rescue dog, I’m opening my home, (heart) and spacious garden to offer a safe, comfortable environment for dogs who need boarding. It's not the same without a smiley, welcome wag when you come home! I understand that every dog is unique, and I’m attentive, patient, and committed to making each stay relaxed and fun for your furry friend. I treat each dog as it were my own - lots of cuddles, toys & attention. They're part of my family.

Can't say enough good things about Alex and her care. She offered a lovely meet & greet beforehand and accommodated the many mobility, medication needs and quirks that come along with a 15yr old stubborn dachshund. Lovely updates and photos every day and I didn't worry at all about our fur-baby. Her home and garden are also brilliantly suited to overnight stays. We feel very lucky to have found Alex and would recommend her 1000x over.

Alex was so helpful and clearly is very knowledgeable about and loves dogs. She kept us updated daily and our dog seemed very happy after his stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to have him stay again -thank you.

I have used Alex to look after our super needy high strung spaniel and she was absolutely lovely. Earl doesn’t get on with other dogs but that was not a problem for Alex. She took him for walks & gave him lots of love & attention and made sure he didn’t get stressed out by any other pet interactions. She even popped over twice in one day. If you want someone trustworthy and reliable and good with your pet, I highly recommend Alex.

Alex has helped us out with our dog, Doug, a number of times - Doug is always delighted to see her! She’s reliable and considerate and lets us know everything is going well, sending pictures too. It’s so great to have someone friendly and local who clearly loves Doug as much as we do and can help us out when we need a spare pair of legs to get Doug out for a walk. Couldn’t recommend Alex more highly! I feel so pleased to know Doug is in good hands.

Schedule

I work part‑time in my local area providing assistance to older and vulnerable people. It’s only around 10 hours a week, so my schedule is very flexible and I’m able to be home for most of the day. This allows me to give your pup plenty of attention and a calm, consistent routine.

Safety, trust & environment

My home in Town Row, Rotherfield offers easy access to woodland paths, open countryside, and Millennium Green is great for safe, varied walks. On or off lead is at your discretion. My husband & I have a quiet household with no children or other pets, and our modern home includes a spacious, secure garden looking onto a meadow with plenty of outdoor space to watch the birds, squirrels & deer!

A typical day

Most mornings would ideally start with a lovely walk in the woods or park, followed by some fun in the garden — frisbee, ball throwing, or whatever your pup enjoys. I’m usually out with a customer for 2–3 hours each day, but the rest of the time I’m at home, giving visiting dogs plenty of company and a steady routine. My last dog had his quirks and could be nervous (never aggressive) around certain dogs, so I’m very comfortable with pups who need a gentle approach. Your dog can relax anywhere in the house and enjoy our fenced garden for safe exploring.

It’s really helpful to know about any separation anxiety, fears, quirky habits or medical requirements. If your dog needs medication, just share the details so I can keep their routine consistent. We do have eight steps from the terrace up to the lawn, which may not be ideal for elderly or arthritic dogs, so please mention any mobility issues. If you’d like to arrange a meet and greet, I’d love to meet you both and make sure your pup feels happy with me and my home. Please get in touch! Boarding covers up to 24 hours; later pick‑ups can be arranged with an added day‑care rate.
