Not my first rodeo 🤠
My current dog is an anxious senior rescue-dog with a growing list of medical conditions. Loving her has taught me so much, and I hope that I can earn the trust of you and your dog just as I earned hers! My most recent pet care experience revolves around aging & disabled dogs and cats, but I've also cared for plenty of healthy & energetic adults and seniors too. I've had dogs my entire life, and I've lived with family members' & roommates' cats for most of my life too. Specific dog experience includes: -Service dogs, rescue dogs, dogs with anxiety, dogs with significant medical conditions, seniors, puppies, healthy adults. -Breeds: Formosan Mountain Dogs, Shepherd-husky mixes, Labs, Scotties, Westies, and mixed breeds.

Safety, trust & environment
My dog and I live in an apartment building. We take a few walks per day and make sure to do enriching activities and play time. When I pet sit at the owner's home (such as on of my friends or family members), I follow their instructions and keep their pet company as if they were my own.
Ratings and reviews
Alex is extremely attentive to not only the pet, but the habits and environment that the pet expects to be in. They don't forget the small but important things, like if there are certain way food is served or mixed, if there are any particular bathroom habits, how to enter the house or room in a way that signals a safe person. They ask and clarify any questions immediately, and are very diligent in providing the instructed care. They also take care and time to introduce themselves to the animal, and do things to try to bond and make the pet more comfortable, especially when so many pets will be nervous without their primary human! I highly recommend Alex.
Alex did a phenomenal job looking after my pets. Both my dog, a 1 year old mixed breed, and cat, a 12 year old ragdoll, absolutely love them! Alex gave them plenty of love and attention, was on top of their feeding schedules, and gave my cat daily oral medication when he needed it. I was also particularly impressed with how they handled my dog without any issues as she can be a bit high energy and impulsive because of her age. I would highly recommend Alex for any pet sitting needs and trust them to look after mine again in the future!
Alex watched my cat, Kimchi, for years when I was out of town (even in the stretch of weeks) before he passed last year. He loved them very much and would wait by the door for them to come. He loved them so much that even if it was meal time, he was more interested in getting pets and cuddles from Alex. Alex is proficient at giving medication to your pets (and Kimchi was on many different kinds near the end), giving them so much love, and reading their body language and respecting their space. Kimchi used to be a very shy and nervous cat, but when Alex visited to feed him, he would come out of hiding to greet them and give them his signature tail shake. I highly recommend Alex as a pet sitter if you want someone that respects your pet's autonomy, space, as well as care for them like they would care for their own pet!!!
I met Alex as a new roommate over 10 years ago. At the time, I had my 1st rescue dog who was quite nervous. Alex was extremely sweet and gentle with her and they soon became best friends. Alex has their own rescue dog who they take very good care of. Alex is a very competent, generous and kind person. I would trust Alex with any of my dogs or cats and would recommend them to anyone who needs support and help with their animals.

Schedule
I work as an RMT, mostly on weekday afternoons and evenings. I'm available 9am-12pm on Thursday and Friday, and often all day on Wednesdays. I am sometimes available for weekends as well.
