Pet care experience

As a recent GW magna cum laude graduate and longtime resident of the DC-metro area, I have the ability and experience to provide quality care services to you and your beloved pet by maintaining a strong, balanced routine while you are away. As the former owner of a senior dog, I excel at meeting medication standards during feeding and scanning dogs for tics and other external-borne threats. As an NYC native, I have over 10 years of experience dog-walking in urban areas, especially in maintaining dog safety from foot and vehicle traffic. By combining a strong work (and play) ethic with a passionate love for all dogs, I am a safe bet to care for your canine companion!

Our dog had an amazing vacation with Alex and came home happy and exhausted! Alex sent lots of updates, photos, and videos -- it looked like they had a ton of fun together. We appreciated how communicative Alex was with daily updates, and how he made such an effort to learn our routine and any special needs.

I'm convinced that in a previous life Alex was a Golden Retriever. He gets along incredibly well with dogs and has a knack for establishing immediate rapport with them. Even our skittish female yellow lab who doesn't usually like men, LOVES Alex. He's trustworthy, articulate, well mannered, responsible, and perhaps most importantly for your dog- he's got a lot of energy. If you have a dog that loves to run, Alex can keep up with it. If you've got a chill dog who just likes to hang out and be scratched or get a tummy rub, Alex is all about that too. The only downside to hiring Alex is that your dog will miss him when he's not there and may begin liking him better than you.

Alex is a responsible and caring friend, beloved by both people and pets. I am more than confident that he can take care of any pet and make sure they have a fun time, keeping them happy and safe!

What makes Alex wonderful is his deep empathy and curiosity about how animals experience the world. He didn't grow up with dogs, but the moment he met mine, he showed a natural love for them. One of my dogs is typically terrified of strangers, even people she's met several times, but she warmed up to Alex immediately. When helping me care for my dogs, he asks thoughtful questions and does research to understand them better. He asks if they get sad when people leave, if they understand fairness, or how they prefer to be talked to and petted. He understands that to dogs, their family is their whole world, and he cares deeply about improving that world. My older dog also has significant health issues, and he is vigilant about medication and tailors his approach entirely to their emotional and physical well-being. He is charming, athletic, responsible, and trustworthy.
