Maybe this is our destiny. As a young teen I spent all my pocket money on books about dogs and cats. This is pre-Amazon so this often required 8 week waits as my local bookshop would have some obscure book about Pugs, Boston Terriers or Persian cats delivered. Loren has been an animal lover since childhood and used to operate a rabbit rescue from her mum's garden; ask her about the weekly cleaning routine! Always surrounded by dogs, her love for Ruby the Chihuahua is unmatched. Alex's first job was as a volunteer in the local Animal Rescue, where he cared for every type of animal imaginable and got used to the mess they can make! Particularly those horses, no house sitting horses please! Next came a paid job in a major pet store. He was given the role of “small animal specialist”. Which, in hindsight, just meant he was relied on to clean out the rodents everyday. Whilst there he completed a series of qualifications and became well versed in the experience of working with loving pet owners. We've both moved on from careers as Teachers. Alex works for a charity and Loren works as a Photographer. Both are flexible home-working patterns that have allowed us to provide a fantastic setting for visiting dogs.
