Dog Trainer & Behaviourist Daycare services
Hi! I’m a dog trainer and pre-certified canine behaviourist with nearly 10 years’ experience working with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. I’m currently studying towards my Ofqual Regulated Level 5 Diploma in Higher Canine Behaviour & Training, and I’m the proud founder of Pavilion Pets, a dog training and behaviour school in Brighton. I specialise in working with nervous dogs, dogs lacking confidence, and primitive or large breeds—those that often need more understanding, patience, and structure than most. Whether you’ve got a high-energy Akita, a reactive rescue, or a shy pup who needs careful socialisation, I’m here to help.

We were a bit worried for Titus who can be an anxious boy but he spent the best day with Alex and the other dogs. I’m really glad Alex was there for him and surely will do it again if it’s needed ! Thank you Alex for yesterday ☀️

This was the first time we’ve left our dog and Alex couldn’t have been more reassuring, he always kept us updated with lots of videos, photos and text messages. We were instantly impressed by how great he was. Would highly recommend and huge thanks to Alex, it’s obvious how much he loves dogs and treated our one just as his own.

Ziggy tends to be a little nervous the first time he goes to a sitter. But Alex gave him all the space and respect, gently introducing him to other dogs and giving him attention whenever he needed. I could see in images and videos throughout the day how he opened up and felt more at home, giving Alex cuddles later in the day even. He came back tired and pleased! (Literally crushed as soon as we got to the airbnb). Absolutely grateful to Alex for accommodating us and hugely recommended! We will definitely return.

Grom had a lovely time with Alex and all the other pups. We received regular updates and photos.

Alex looked after our ageing Jack Russell, Betsie, for an overnight stay. She isn't the easiest dog, being of a nervous temperament. Alex cared for her well, putting both Betsie and us at our ease. We'll use Alex again, and would highly recommend his services.

Fabulous- so helpful and considerate with such extreme weather!

Schedule
My Pack Approach: I have three friendly, well-trained dogs of my own, who are key to my work: Primrose – 10-year-old Shiba Inu (very playful but has a zen presence, she's absolutely the little leader) Shishi – 1.5-year-old Japanese Akita Inu (a playful floof noodle and socially aware, she likes to go with the crowd) Truffle – 3-year-old French Bulldog, neutered (the clown of the group!) All my dogs are fully vaccinated, health-checked, and well-socialised, and I often use them as part of my training reconditioning work—helping shy or reactive dogs gain confidence by integrating into a balanced, calm pack environment. Depending on your dog's exercise needs, I'll cater our outings to your dogs. I'm an active person and love being out in nature.

Home characteristics
Safety, trust & environment
I live in a dog-friendly flat with a secure fenced garden, right by Preston Park—ideal for calm or energetic pups alike. My home is relaxed and welcoming: dogs are allowed on sofas, beds, and treated like part of the family. I’m out multiple times a day with my dogs and bring the same energy and dedication to every guest dog I care for.
Pets
A typical day
A typical day at Pavilion Pets is built around structure, calm energy, and tailored care. Each day starts with a calm morning walk with my own well-balanced pack—Primrose (Shiba Inu), Shishi (Japanese Akita), and Truffle (French Bulldog)—to set the tone for the day. Any daycare or guest dogs are slowly introduced in a controlled, positive way, ensuring they feel safe and supported. We’ll head out for multiple walks across the day, from structured lead walks around Preston Park to enriching sniffy strolls in woodland areas or the beach (weather permitting). Playtime, training, and chill-out sessions are spaced throughout the day depending on each dog’s needs, energy level, and temperament. At home, guest dogs have full access to a relaxed and dog-friendly environment. Whether they love sofa snuggles, quiet time, or playing with the pack, I cater to each dog individually. For dogs in training, we integrate gentle exposure, confidence-building, and basic commands into their routine, using only positive reinforcement and calm, clear communication. Every dog ends the day settled, enriched, and better socialised—whether they came for daycare or behaviour support. I always aim to send dogs home tired, happy, and with their tails wagging.
