Alessio is such a good dog dad and genuinely one of the most caring people I’ve seen around dogs. I know I’m his partner, so I may be a little biased, but I’ve had a front-row seat to how he treats them, and I really do think dogs just naturally feel comfortable around him. When we first started dating, we each had our own dogs, and Alessio immediately treated my dog like he had been in his life forever. His senior dog was also a huge part of our little family, so we’ve always had dogs around us. We recently lost Shaka, and honestly, it’s been really different in our little family without him. It’s made me appreciate even more how much love and care Alessio has always given the dogs in his life. Now, Ziggy is completely attached to him and has basically decided that Alessio is his leader. Ziggy doesn’t even really like cuddling with me, but somehow he can fall completely asleep on top of Alessio. So I’ve accepted that I’ve been replaced! Alessio is definitely a silly dog parent, which I think is part of why dogs love him so much. He’ll sing and dance with them, talk to them in ridiculous little voices, give them a million nicknames, and sneak in as many hugs as he can. But underneath all the silliness, he is incredibly patient and attentive. I really think dogs pick up on the fact that he makes them feel safe. He’s also been incredibly patient with Ziggy, who has a liver condition and occasionally has accidents in the house. Alessio never gets upset or makes him feel scared. He just takes care of him and makes sure he’s okay. That says a lot about the kind of person he is with animals. He genuinely loves having dogs around. Friends and family are always welcome to bring their dogs over, and he occasionally “babysits” — or, really, steals — his mom’s terrier so Ziggy can have some company. Mikko loves coming over too and pretty much forgets all about going home when he’s here. We have plenty of space, so there’s always room for another dog to hang out, play, or find a cozy spot to nap. He’s also really attentive to dogs and the little things they need. He can tell when they’re feeling anxious, when they need some extra love and attention, or when they’ve been inside too long and need to get out. He loves taking Ziggy to the park, playing with him, or just keeping eachother company. He’s genuinely happiest when there’s a dog around, and taking care of them feels very natural to him. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own, give them plenty of attention, keep them safe, and probably give them a ridiculous nickname by the end of the day, Alessio would be a great person to trust with your pup. He really, genuinely loves dogs, and I think they know it.
